Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Before I launch into this statement on some of the bad vibes going down in the campgrounds this year, I want to say I had an excellent Bonnaroo. Despite the lows I'm about to mention, the highs I received from the music and the majority of festival goers were incredible. This was my eighth Bonnaroo in a row and I have no intention on ever stopping due to some bullshit. To the mother fucker who did this: I still had a better Bonnaroo than you.
On Friday night, my girlfriend was exhausted and decided to go back to the campsite. I walked her back and took a break before returning to the Superjam. We were camped in Cloud City around the Pod 7 balloon and had an easy 10 minute walk to and from Centeroo. Thinking all was good, I put my belongings in our tent and returned to the Superjam to get funky.
A hour and a half later, I returned to find both of our day packs ransacked. Some thieving mother fucker had entered the tent while my girlfriend was sleeping, pulled out our bags, and stole our cash, iPhone, and Roo goodies. Thankfully, my girlfriend was left untouched and was sound asleep during the incident. Had something happened to her, I would never have forgiven myself for leaving her alone, and would never return to Roo.
I always keep a lock on my tent while I'm away, but if someone is in the tent, your shit should be safe. I can't believe these fuck-heads would briefly disrupt all the positive energy created by such a fun event. Furthermore, I caught a teenage girl trying to steal beer and whiskey out of my cooler after Elton John. I let all my aggression out on her and am pretty sure she pissed herself as she ran away.
Moral of the story: lock your shit in your car even if someone is at your campsite, and leave your girlfriend with a weapon.

I understand your frustration, man, but I don't suggest bringing weapons to Roo. There are almost always enough people around that if something is going down, just screaming for help will get you plenty of assistance in no time. Weapons just complicate the matter and could possibly get you or your girlfriend arrested even if you weren't the aggressor.
I also want to use this opportunity to suggest joining Camp Inforoo next year. With a camp as large as ours was (both in VIP and over in Tent Only) there was almost always someone awake at the campsite keeping an eye on things.
Sorry to hear this. We had a table disappear last year on the last evening, but that was all.
If it is valuable enough to lock up, I really think about leaving it at home. You can't do that with your phone, but no need for crazy expensive stuff to tempt anyone.

I had my sunglasses stole from me at Caveman. I was sitting down by the rail waiting for it to start and a girl came and sat down next to me. I took off my glasses and put them right next to my right leg. People scooted over down the rail so everyone started moving over. I got up to move and the moment I turned around the glasses were gone. I asked her if she took them and immediately denied. So unless a black hole opened and took them, she stole them from me. My boyfriend looked all around us and nothing. I wasn't drinking or doing drugs so I knew what I was doing.
(they are just sunglasses, I know but it's the principle)
No one stole anything from me, but someone tried to steal my Pokemon bucket hat off of my head at Ferg. It had a chin strap tho so it just caught am I pulled it back down.

Wasn't referring to a "weapon" weapon. Meant more of a "self protection" weapon such as pepper spray. I should have said leave your girlfriend with some pepper spray.
I'll def consider Camp Inforoo when we're not rolling with a large group in the future.
Our neighbors had a big party section going on in pod 2. Saturday morning they came over and told everyone that someone had come through while they were all passed out and stole their money and hash and to lock everything up. We had been bc this was our first time and we were nervous about it but it was freaky people would do that while you're sleeping. The neighbors said theyd been to roo several times and this was the first time anything had ever been stolen.

I left a tarp spread out in the lawn between Arctic Monkeys and Avett Brothers sets while I went to fill my camel back. Someone stole it in the 10 minutes I was gone. It's just a tarp, but it bugged me.
I can't believe someone would go in someone elses tent and take things. Especially with someone inside sleeping. That's very disturbing.

Last year we had a camelback stolen at camp. We got lazy and didn't bring them into the locked tent, but sat them out under our wind catch, which was zipped down.
Anyway I searched some that night after getting back from late night and didn't see it.
Got up the next am and found it an aisle over and about 10 cars down. No one was there from that tent or car, but I did ask some of their neighbors. They said they had not seen them and didn't think they'd take anything.
Just tp and food missing really.
It sucks having your privacy violated like that. Sounds like you had some higher end items taken.
I hope next year is better. We had nothing happen this year.

Walking around Wednesday night, security had 3 haggard looking people cuffed. Overheard one of the security guys saying he saw them stealing. I wanna say it was somewhere in Pod 2.
Friday or Saturday night our neighbors behind us had all of their backpacks stolen.
this was my 5th year in a row and I've never seen it like this. even had a guy sit beside me in centeroo and ask if I wanted to help him beat someones ass. when I asked who he says "whoever". I blame it on the lineup. if it isn't better next year then I won't be going back to roo.

I forgot this until now, but I also had someone try to grab my gopro and rip it out of my hands. Luckily it was on a gopole and securely in my grip, but I turned around and asked him wtf his problem was. His response, "It spoke to me"......yea right.

In 09 my buddy had his wallet stolen, we recovered it. In 13 I'm sitting on the truck bed when some guy comes into our neighbors camp opens the ice chest. I ask what he doing and he says he looking for beer, if he had come up to me and asked I would have given him one we had plenty. Instead I told him to eff off.
Seriously people. There are literally hundreds of people (if not thousands) at bonnaroo looking to take advantage of people. Be they ioutright thieves, ground score lurkers, hustlers selling bunk goodies. At bonnaroo you need to be extra vigilant, not less so.

We had a gnome liberated, but he left a note where he can be found :-) And a derelict couple who we let stay under our canopy because they didn't have anyplace else to stay shit under the drain pool in our shower tent and left bottles of piss everywhere.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

My friend got her backpack stolen.
She left it outside our tent but inside our shade tent which had three of four walls down at night..
THANK GOD. My other friend for some reason felt the need to say "umm dude, where's your passport?" she said it was in her purse, with her backback, just outside our tent. We made her bring her purse in the tent... only to wake up to her backpack gone in the morning.
Could have been so much worse. Her purse had all her money and credit cards, drivers license, and passport in it (losing your passport when you're from outside the USA is never a good idea) All she had in her backpack were some baby wipes, some food, some Canadian money, about ten bucks.. and her epi-pen.
We went to the medical tent because my friend is allergic to bees and now didn't have her epi-pen and they said they had them at the medical tents... but we didn't have one we were able to keep with us.
All in all, coulda been worse. But still really sucked and was kinda stressful for us not having her epi-pen for the weekend, and those are about 100 bucks to replace.

why are there so many instances of brazen robbery attempts?? I haven't ever experienced this at roo...is there an epidemic of wussiness amongst inforoosters? do we need a self defense class at the next brunch? a how not to get robbed seminar? do we need to form a gang?

I think this is the first time in 9 years of going, that I've heard of so many instances of stealing. It makes me really sad
I'm very lucky to have never had anything stolen, but I will be sure to be more careful in the future. I do always camp with my car so I lock most of my stuff in it.
We were settling in for Elton between Avett on the VIP hill for the first time in the weekend just looking to chill out. We had like 15 Brooers tickets left so I told my gf I'd go run and get beer to use them up! I do the hike, catch a lil Wiz Khalifa which was great get back to the hill facing What stage left side (So pretty damn big huff to round trip that in that downtime). I get back my gf has to pee I have to pee. We have a blanket, cool people around us, all seems well I set my two beers down we goth go pee. Come back someone stole our beers! Lady next to us said ya some guy came in grabbed the beers and kept walking she yelled to him what he was doing and he walked faster. She tried to point him out to me but we couldn't find him once I got back. It was just beer but it was so weird to me in the sense this isn't my first rodeo and normally in that environment you can leave anything out. Was just kind of shocking. LUCKILY i had my camel back on because I didnt even settle in when I dropped the beer off or I am pretty sure that would of walked away too and that would of been awful.
This year was VERY magical and I had an incredible time. However, I did notice a difference in the crowd. One example during Kanye watched these two COKE'D out bros just off the wall screaming at the top of their lungs NO MATTER what was being said by Kanye or what song we were in or anything else. I knew it being a controversial show and a lot of anomosity that I expected some hate/boos etc from the back of the crowd. So being as I actually wanted to see the set we did Vampire Weekend into Kanye and landed like 3-4 back from the pit rail so I thought we were going to get just a crowd wanting the same thing I did. But before the show even started I could tell we were dealing with just obnoxious energy not happy lets scream because we are filled with joy energy. This was on a whole new level of something that was just jaw dropping. It didn't matter what was going on they just screamed. They were just going to bro scream 24/7 no matter what. Actually was one of the most cringe worthy concert moments in my entire life. A guy right in front of him (who i genuinely felt sorry for) turned and asked them to stfu they proceed to explode into a fiery ball of "YEAH MAN WE DO WHAT WE WANT MAN" tirade while literally screaming this to the guy's face about 1 inch away (couldn't believe it didn't get violent). Then bro #1 turns to me for a high five and I said "are you ffking kidding me? you guys are assholes" and then I high fived the other guy. I swear only the second time in my life I said a rude thing to someone at a show. Ironically what did shut them up was not the guy lecturing them but the very public display of no high five snub because it happened at a quiet part between songs during one of the rants. And if cool guy who was looking at What was on the left side of the stage like 3-4 rows back from the pit rail damn near center reads this Buddy I am sorry you dealt with that but good job not punching them. Anyway next year we are rolling the Telluride Blue Grass and maybe Glastonbury just beacuse there is so much to see in this world! .. But I'll be coming back! Stay true Roo!!!

my friend woke up with no wristband on sunday, dont know if someone stole it or cut it off or it fell off. but fuck that was a stressful moment, we got him another one from customer service (upside of registering your wristband)
