my friend woke up with no wristband on sunday, dont know if someone stole it or cut it off or it fell off. but fuck that was a stressful moment, we got him another one from customer service (upside of registering your wristband)

My wristband fell off (a stitch came undone), so it's totally possible your friend's did as well.
And I too was happily surprised at how easy it was to get a new one! They just asked for my name and where I was from. Took just a minute.
Last year tho- there was an instance where some girls from my Groop were in centeroo and some guy stole a phone right out of their hand and ran away. The girl was just sitting in the grass sending a text and the guy literally just grabbed it and sprinted off. I was blown away when I heard this.

I camped by the main gate where the toll booth volunteers camped. Someone left a nice telescope out for several days and I heard on Monday morning that someone had stoled it. It is one thing to trust people, another thing to tempt people. That thing had to be quite a few bucks.

When we went to the lost and found to see if maybe someone had ditched her backpack after stealing it and discovering there was nothing of value in it... the girl there said that there had been so many things stolen this year, far more than other years :/
Part of me feels like doing VIP is one of the more effective way of avoiding these sorts of shenanigans. You'd figure if you're already paying $750 for a pass there's little incentive to steal shit from others.
Didn't someone say in another thread some guy try to rob a lemonade stand during the Skrillex Superjam
One of my friends saw this happen! They were too far away (there was a big crowd between them and the stand) but apparently some guy came up and stole their tip jar while they had their backs turned. Not cool man, not cool.
I hate to say it but theft has been an issue at Bonnaroo since day one. The line-up doesn't make a difference, please stop blaming it on that. There are sick individuals in the world who like to prowl on people, circumstances, etc. And it's not just Bonnaroo, it happens at ALL FESTIVALS!!!!!!
In reality, our nation is in the worst place its ever been. Poverty, and homelessness is worse than ever. Debt, school debt, medical debt at an all-time high. When the economy is bad, crime is higher. This is my 8th year in a row, my second going alone. I am a female. On foot from NYC. I keep my valuables on me at all times, while my tent is popped in tent city.
Please do not let one or all of the incidences make you have less faith in Roo. Lock up all our goods in your car, keep things on you. I walked around all night in Tent only waking people up, telling them to put their bookbags in their tent. They just left them sitting right outside. Poor kids.
Anyway, I'm sorry for everyone's loss. I hope you still keep coming back. Lots of love and see you next year!
I always keep a lock on my tent while I'm away, but if someone is in the tent, your shit should be safe. I can't believe these fuck-heads would briefly disrupt all the positive energy created by such a fun event. Furthermore, I caught a teenage girl trying to steal beer and whiskey out of my cooler after Elton John. I let all my aggression out on her and am pretty sure she pissed herself as she ran away.
I'm pretty sure that was you that I heard at my campsite after Elton John. I remember hearing someone yelling at another person for stealing shiz. We were camped near Pod 7, about a 10 min walk into Centeroo.
I don't blame ya man, it's a shame you have to watch out for that kind of crap while trying to have a great time.

I guarantee you it was I. I really let that girl have it. We were at the campsite with all the tapestries on the canopy. Actually surprised no one tried to steal one.

Its really awful either way though.
Losing about $200 in my wallet is STILL way cheaper than VIP lol
Riding in on a cart Sunday we see a guy looking at pipes, the dude grabs one an takes off. The store owner starts yelling, a guy that I guess was just looking at pipes to runs an catches him. This guy was stupid for stealing probably a no more than 20 dollar pipe to top it off he was slow as shiz. Just a bad idea. The driver actually stopped an let us watch it unfold. Lol

Having done GA in 06,08, and 09, I am happy to say after my first VIP broo that I'll never go back to the unwashed masses. Your 300 on a ticket and 200 lost to the mundo is almost three hundred less than I paid, and my friend I would have spent three hundred more on top. The land of milk and honey - VIP. It's not just flushing toilets and what stage as a backdrop to everything, oh no.

I have always seen my share of head shaking sketchiness at Roo but these stories are just horrible! I would say that making the move to VIP from GA has certainly made camp life way more chill, safe, and comfortable. In the 4 years in VIP I have never had a bad experience versus my 2 years in GA which had a few problems. To anyone, no matter where you are parked, I would say that the old Lock it or Lose it standpoint is your best bet.
There isn't much you can do about what happens in Centeroo but I always keep alert and vigilant because you just never know. I can't stand ignorant concert behavior nor do I have any tolerance for childish people (I don't know what I would have done with those yelling Bro's, except to say that it would have been sly and cruel) so I generally just move away from this type of stuff.
Hope all of you who had a rough go this year aren't dissuaded from returning and are treated to especially great 2015 Bonnaroo's.
No one stole anything from me, but someone tried to steal my Pokemon bucket hat off of my head at Ferg. It had a chin strap tho so it just caught am I pulled it back down.
Hey that was you?! We stood right behind you, and my friend took a picture of your hat!

Haha, like it's a tour, "And if you look to your right, you'll see a terrible person about to pay the price for being dumb enough to think they can just snatch a pipe.... Oh, perfect form tackle by the pursuer and that's a wrap. Now off to the left sits a pack of wooks..."
This will be my 5th and we only had things stolen once. It was 2 years ago. We come back to our camp one night all happy and laughing just to see our tents and cooler wide open. I stopped and said I think we were robbed. We looked though everything and saw they took a wallet, camera, and some money. I don't recommend tent locks as that is saying "I have valuables in here." Instead put everything of value in the car and lock it.
I always here about this happening but we only had it that year. That was also our first year as a large group with a camping village. I think when you have a larger camp, especially if it is walled off with sheets you are more likely to get hit. Just be safe and lock it all in car when gone.
We did get the wallet back at lost and found, minus money.
