Ok I will. First of all she is one of my favorite artists of all time. Like everyone else I loved the Fugees but Miseducation was one of the greatest albums of all time. I have worn that thing out over the years and it never got old, but I had never seen her live. After all this time and after all she's been through I really didn't know what to expect. I had an idea, but my idea was totally wrong. It took me a couple songs to really buy into what she was doing. Basically it was like a Lauryn Hill superjam. She has reworked every single song. This makes it hard to have the epic singalong that I wanted this show to be. But once I realized how amazing her band and backup singers were and that they were rocking the fuck out of these songs I just let them take me along for the ride. Seriously, it takes balls to do what she's doing. You have these songs that are so familiar to so many people and you totally rework them and do the way you want to do it? Also can you imagine how much they had to work to learn these totally different versions of the songs? I loved it and I danced more than I did at any other show this weekend. I was going to put it as my #1 until Jack came right behind her and totally smashed shit to pieces. What an amazing run of shows on Sat. night. Damon>Lionel(had to leave early but I know it was great)>Lauryn>Jack>Nick Cave>Darkside. Holy shit!

I was there and close in, well in front of the sound board, and it was amazing. Her being delayed made me thing it might be a shitty show, but damn...she threw down. She had everyone moving. Great show.

I would've been disappointed if she wasn't at least a little late. But damn did she bring it. It's easy to imagine a different world where she didn't go off the deep end after Miseducation and was headlining this year.
Really good set, I left a little early to get to the start of Jack on time, but enjoyed the hell out of it while I was there. She's still got it, both the voice and the flow.

Next year is the 20 year anniversary of "The Score" being recorded. (It was released in 1996 though.) I hope that gives The Fugees enough motivation to play a few shows or festivals next year, or the next.
