I totally agree. I don't pay $300 for a ticket to hear a guy rap along with an iPod. Maybe if more rappers hired actual bands it'd be more entertaining.
Someone told me it was less Godzilla and more of the dramatic story surrounding the events of a Godzilla attack. Is this true and if so does it detract from the movie experience?
To play devil's advocate, from Nick Cave's version of Stagger Lee:
"Barkeep said, yeah, I've heard your name down the Way And I kick motherfucking asses like you every day Mr stagger lee Well those were the last words that the barkeep said 'cause stag put four holes in his motherfucking head Just then in came a broad called nellie brown Was known to make more money than any bitch in town She struts across the bar, hitching up her skirt Over to stagger lee, she starts to flirt With stagger lee She saw the barkeep, said, o god, he can't be Dead! Stag said, well, just count the holes in the Motherfucker's head"

Oh, also - Kanye can screw off.
And you know it's bad when people would rather see no talent-hate- mongering rappers, than real musicians. And then when you show them the racism, they get upset and ban you here. Like I said earlier, bunch of spineless, self hating, brainwashed, shallow people in here. Glad someone else can see the truth up in here. ( up in here up in here)

And Druid, I must tell you something. Banning people for speaking their mind about racism against others is morally reprehensible. I seriously wonder how you're able to even look at your self in the mirror. Or even sleep at night.
You can't silence the truth about this bull sh!t. I won't let that happen. Try and sweep this under the rug the best you can, but it won't go away.
On the subject of Roo getting rappers....I'd like to see these guys be invited/return to Roo:
Busta Rhymes Talib Kweli Ghostface Killah (solo set) Murs Blakroc late night set (Black Keys and a collection of rappers from the album in a late night tent) Obie Trice Redman
I want a Rhymesayers super jam...that's not to much to ask, right?

Also it should be noted: There are by far more non-rappers than rappers at Roo. And over a 100 artists. They all got shepherded to The Other Tent - the shittiest tent - ex. Kanye and Wiz who both already have taken the What Stage. The proportion of rock:rappers:EDM is totally aligned to the current landscape of music.
It sounds more like people are getting upset over not having only their own preferences on the farm.
There were 9 hip-hop artists total. It's not fair to hear all the aggravation over it, just because those artists are popular and well-attended.

I'll admit that suburban, white rap fanboys are the absolute worst/rudest set of music fans. That said, the genre is great. I hope no one complaining about the violence in rap music watches Scorsese or Tarantino films.
S/O to OP for the Clockwork Orange pic. Definitely not a violent film.
