I love James Taylor, but he does not do well in a festival setting. I've seen him twice, once in an arena and once at N.O. Jazzfest. His music is so quiet and nuanced it really doesn't work well with all the noise and distractions at a fest. I would say the same about Emylou Harris.

Sure! I'm marginally related to him, so I'd be down. I've never met him, but my mom has on a few occasions. I think he's married to my first cousin twice removed, but I can't exactly remember.

I agree whole heartedly. I saw him at the NO Jazzfest in 09 and we didn't have a good sight line it was hard to hear. We heard fire and rain and then took off for a show we could enjoy a bit more in that setting. This would have to be an surprise early morning which like Jimmy Buffett in 09. His music is best served in a concert hall.

I've only seen him indoors so I can't comment on his fest presence, but all 3 times I've seen him he has been stellar. I feel like a Bonnaroo crowd would know how to respond to make it special.
End the silent disco. We have the wonderful Kalliope. Let's make an acoustic silent disco. Bon Iver, City and Colour, James Taylor, doesn't matter. I'd go to these shows if I could have headphones plugged into the soundboard instead of being unable to hear "Skinny Love" because some bro behind me is busy recapping his molly stories from last night.
Wow that is a great idea, as a pitch for a transitional year they could still do some late night DJs
