You'll typically find me in the back of the crowd for anything on the what stage. This year we camped out there all day Sunday, so we got to be pretty close (right in front of the sound tent) for the 1st time in my five years of going. Is there a story about the pirate flag hanging from the awning? I've never been close enough to notice it before.

The story I heard is that on Sunday there's an underground game to see who can collect the most pirate flags around the campgrounds. I'm guessing a gaffer knew about the game an put it there to taunt the players.
The vendors in shakedown street have a game where they steal pirate flags, but I doubt this has anything to do with the one at the What. We did not know this game and in 13 we were camping right next to shakedown and were flying a pirate flag. We came back to came one night and our flagpole was broken and torn down and it was missing.
The next morning we walk about 20 ft and see our flag with about 10 other pirate flags on display at a vendor. My girlfriend proceeded to yell at the vendor who immediately apologized, gave us our flag (which was ruined), and a free t-shirt.
