Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Me asking what about this lineup interest you = being touchy.
Got it. Nice one.
;) Thanks for that quote. I'll be throwing it back at you throughout the season.
You're welcome! I've noticed that you've always struggled to be witty, so I'm glad to throw you a bone. It won't be original, but then you should be used to that by now. Enjoy!

Well here's a crazy suggestion to just avoid all of that: How about when somebody posts something positive about anything that you happen to dislike or disagree with; you choose to either simply ignore it or if you really feel strongly enough that you have to make a comment; just try not to be insulting or abrasive and take comfort in the fact that while you might not see the appeal of whatever it is in question; it is bringing somebody else joy.
I know this will fall into your critique of me being unoriginal because I posted it before. But I really think you should watch this again.

Please explain to me how my asking sincerely (as repeated oft throughout my inquiry) what about that lineup you found exciting, and explaining my own feelings on it (i.e. it seems a fairly homogenous mashup of stuff that you could get anywhere) was "insulting" or "abrasive." I went out of my way to emphasize that I was not attempting to pillory anyone's questionable taste, but was rather genuinely interested in the appeal of such a lineup, as that appeal completely missed me.

it's somewhat equal to saying "no offense" though. just cuz you say it doesn't mean the sentence comes off any differently
no offense, but you're annoying. that was not meant to be offensive
Wow that Decadence NYE lineup in Colorado is stacked. Jealous.
I am with you on that. Every name on the bill is appealing.
I am just hoping NYC gets something other than Skrill and Diplo for NYE, like another Winter Galactic or something..... or i'll just have to see Gov't Mule instead.

Uh...
Bassnectar, Paper Diamond, Disclosure (dj set), Zedd, Dj Mustard, Kaskade, Big Gigantic, Flux Pavilion.
I know you and I have significant differences on what "stacked" would mean in this scenario, but I'm genuinely interested in hearing how, to you, a lineup full of retread, big room "EDM" acts who play literally everywhere all the time is a big deal. I'm serious, I'm not trying to just put down your taste. To me, calling this lineup "stacked" would be the equivalent of raving about the food at an event which was catered jointly by TGI Friday's, Applebees, Ruby Tuesday, Chili's, Hardees, and KFC.
Edited for excessive use of the comma.
How dare you talk down about Ruby Tuesday. That salad bar is like the Radiohead of restaurant salad bars.

I apologize to anybody reading that this exchange has gone on for about half a page now and does not have an end in sight. This conversation is just as lame to be in as I'm sure it is for you to read. I hope we get back to discussing music soon
Okay, so first off why do you feel the need to call me out for expressing my thoughts on something as mundane as a NYE lineup for a show neither of us will even be attending to begin with? I'm sure you'll answer it was genuine curiosity over the appeal, although I suspect it is yet another attempt on your part to just be a troll. Given your history on this board of deriding others on their thoughts, why would I not jump to that conclusion? I mean just before begining to type my reply here I clicked over to the headliner thread and there you were, being abrasive toward somebody else because you saw a fault in the logic over their suggested set of Bonnaroo headliners (as if that matters somehow). History plays a factor. It's so much easier to be polite to people than it is to be negative. If you are a dick towards me one day, why would I see anything you say thereafter as being "sincere" unless you have given me a reason to view you differently?
If your inquery was truly sincere you would have merely asked a question. Instead you plugged in your two cents which consisted of comparing this lineup (which I had already expressed a positive attitude towards) to a convention filled with crappy chain restaurant food. Do you not see how that could be construed as being abrasive? Theres a reason I keep using the word abrasive, because it fits your attitude to a T. Here's the dictionary definition:
(of a person or manner) showing little concern for the feelings of others; harsh. tending to annoy or cause ill will; overly aggressive:
Now I think we have over analyzed an off hand comment enough and allowed it to spin off into a whole separate conversation on social etiquette for too long. Wouldn't you agree?

Well Unicorn Meat usually has a pretty awesome show in Brooklyn. Last year Moby, pantyraid, RJD2, and a few others played. Plus the art installations are pretty spectacular there. I would be on the lookout for that lineup.
Also, you should definitely check out Disclosure at Pier 94. Right now that is by far the best option.

If it means anything, I thoroughly enjoy reading this, and you defending common sense. Thank you

I would submit that the answer to all of this is that you're far too sensitive. Also that you still don't know what a "troll" is, but whatever. I'll drop it, and you and JustinMN can discuss the same 10 EDM acts over and over and over again.
I'd rather jump into this "Phi + salad" discussion. Phyre Fest, I'm going to guess that your favorite salads are those of the Cobb variety. True or false?

This thread would be boring without you, I can't argue that. You/everybody can only post a wishlist once, this is more of a general dance music thread as far as I'm concerned.
On with the salad debate! I personally would never order a salad at a restaurant, if it comes with a salad I want the basic + ranch. Yes I'm quite generic
I actually really like the salads at Panera. The chicken isn't all that amazing and seems a bit too processed to me. But BBQ Chopped Chicken Salad is still a pretty great option for a convenient meal.

Yea its all about a good caesar. Not that crap in the bottle mind you. No no no. The proper ratio of anchovie and cheese must be obtained. And dont forget the egg.
