Not top tier, but grimes and baauer were horrible at Made in America. Barely touched their equipment. Aoki was the worst thing I ever but I needed to see it for myself. He was like watching bad karaoke in a dentist chair. Tiesto got checked off "The List" and really no desire for that show again. It was raining the hardest during Tommy Trash's set so cant really speak on that one.
Girl Talk was the only impressive EDM note for the 25 minutes I was there before Pharrell.
I'm just praying we can avoid the garbage trio of David Guetta, AVICII, and Steve Aoki. I think we can ALL agree these artists suck.
They're not the worst that's out there. Well, Aoki is, but I'll take the other two over Martin Garrix, Afrojack, Tiesto, Kaskade and some others.
alright don't kill me for this guys, i enjoyed martin garrix at tomorrowworld. there i said it. he was actually one person we had crossed off seeing and ended up leaving camp when he was starting so we went and saw it. good to jump around too and what not
edit: this in no way means i want or think bonnaroo will get him

Funny you should mention the jumping. We dropped on his set at Lolla to see what all the fuss was about and repeating all his lousy hype-man shtick became our running gag for the weekend, particularly "EVERY. BODY. FUCKING. JUMP."
i could get along with that bit, basically the bit of the weekend at TW

We were front row for Duke Dumont and Gramatik at lolla and getting out of that crowd after gramatik with all the kids pushing to the front was prolly the worst thing ever we literally had to push people out of the way to get out. They were not thrilled lol.
Calvin Harris and Bassnectar make almost too much sense.
honestly i would be ok with it. I've not seen either live. I hear bassnectar is amazing live. Calvin Harris... Meh, but my girlfriend would be so excited.

Honestly, there are a lot of EDM acts I would enjoy, but I keep coming back to Porter Robinson. A LN set with his Worlds tour set up would be absolutely amazing.

https%3A//soundcloud.com/toofutureshop/too-future-guest-mix-006-jai-wolf anybody ever get into this guy at all? has a little bit of a flume sound to it, but still some of the cheese ( i don't mind it)
edit: i'm aware it's a mix of not all his own personal songs, but enjoy it
Could you guys recommend some EDM for me? I love Boys Noize's last album (the previous two, not so much), and I think Fatboy Slim's Coachella set was incredible. I'm an idiot and missed Girl Talk at Firefly, but I liked what I heard from my campsite. I'm not a fan of Kaskade (too bright and synthy), and Skrillex is okay. I like pounding grubbly bass with a decent amount of four-on-the-floor. Any suggestions?
Edit: And Alive 2007, for all the obvious reasons.

I'm beginning think I just don't like most EDM. So much of it sounds very airy and lacks punch, which I really like. Like getting repeatedly socked in the face with a dirty cheese grater. That feels awesome. None of these did much for me. Porter Robinson is decent but starts to sound pretty bland after a while. Thanks though!

Skrillex.
I'd like Skrillex much more if I could dance to him. I liked his Kalliope set at Roo this year, assuming that was what I heard from my campsite at 4 in the morning.

I feel you 100% on certain EDM lacking punch. If you are an artist who is creating 4 on the floor type boom boom dance music, why mix the music to LESSEN the visceral impact of the bass? Really weird in my opinion. Steve Aoki is really guilty of this. Its like his music is all treble, I don't understand how he's so popular.

This is all I want. Is that really too much to ask?
