Could you guys recommend some EDM for me? I love Boys Noize's last album (the previous two, not so much), and I think Fatboy Slim's Coachella set was incredible. I'm an idiot and missed Girl Talk at Firefly, but I liked what I heard from my campsite. I'm not a fan of Kaskade (too bright and synthy), and Skrillex is okay. I like pounding grubbly bass with a decent amount of four-on-the-floor. Any suggestions?
Edit: And Alive 2007, for all the obvious reasons.
Simian Mobile Disco & Daniel Avery. And some Justice. Or maybe Jon Hopkins? I could share some video links of specific entry-level songs to these, if you haven't listened to all of them already. And I assume you've gone down the earlier, pre-Alive 2007 Daft Punk road, yes?
I'd like Skrillex much more if I could dance to him. I liked his Kalliope set at Roo this year, assuming that was what I heard from my campsite at 4 in the morning.
Skrillex didn't start at Kalliope until about 6am. I believe who you heard at 4 was DJ Alex Funk

I have confidence that we are gonna get some Cheese again this year, whether its Calvin Harris, Above & Beyond, or Martin Garrix. Watched that ZEDD set on youtube for shits and giggles and after Clarity for the 3rd time I couldnt help but laugh. I just hope the other end of the spectrum isnt Bassnectar.

if its going to be cheese I'd take euro cheese over american cheese, just to get some different tasting cheese.

Personally I would really like to see Above and Beyond cheese, i just feel like they would fit in very well at the farm, even in a tent (which they would probably get) would be totally fine by me
I'd be surprised if it was under a million for a tier 1 fest like Bonnaroo.
Yeah this price is for a mid-tier EDM fest in Tampa. I would hope his exorbitant price would make Bonnaroo steer clear...
I'm not sure this would discount him, he drew by far the biggest crowd I've ever seen on the Coachella mainstage last year. Would $1 million be too much for a late night What stage act? Or, if you wanna start freaking people out, Bonnaroo's first headlining EDM act?

So I saw Galantis this past weekend at LIB and they were easily the absolute worst thing I saw all weekend. So damn cheeesy, they stood up there smiling at each other and high fiving each other the whole time. Garbage.

The information is probably out there on that list that was posted a while back, wonder how much skrillex costs. just curious

I'm sorry, I should know better, what was I thinking. Skrillex should be above whatever tier calvin is in, or calvin should be dropped down, more than one tier
edit: who do you guys think (if) will be the first edm headliner? excluding daft punk. do you think a non daft punk act could headline? i would have to put skrillex in the front running for what he did there last year. idk who else would be in the running....

Technically, Radiohead was our first electronic headliner (though, neither I nor any other inforooer agrees with that.) But if you're talking EDM, not electronic as a whole, Daft punk is the only one who could do it at the moment but Skrillex/Deadmau5 could perhaps do it in the Kinda near future (especially they billed them like Jay-Z.) I honestly can't think of anyone else that has a shot at it because the rest of the major electronic acts that are worthy of it would only get billed 4-6 at best and pre-HL or LN Which (Portishead, Massive Attack, The Prodigy, Kraftwerk, Boards of Canada, Bassnectar, Aphex Twin, etc.)

What were you expecting? Their music reflects that perfectly.

I hadn't ever heard their music. I just knew one dude was in Miike Snow so I checked it out.
