When did they announce the dates last year? Or in years prior? I feel like we generally have a good sense of when they'll be -- just curious when it's formalized.

I'm hoping a definite date comes out soon. My Mom is trying to pick her wedding date and she already knows to schedule around Bonnaroo so I can be there.
There are three weekends it has fallen on in the past. The first second and third full weekends in june. Plenty of other dates.
Why would you miss your moms wedding do bonnaroo? She's your mother. Let her pick her date. Go and dont resent her if it conflicts wi th bonnaroo. Unless the stones are headlining. Then all bets are off.

I see no reason that CMA and Bonnaroo can't be on the same weekend. If anything, we could see a influx of cross over artists at both events. Most don't play bonnaroo or CMA everyday during this time.

I see this as a good thing.
You may argue that point, but it used to be on the same date and they made a conscious decision to split them apart. Production/a/v companies get spread very thin and/or can't cover both events. And as a Nashville resident, I love having them at different times. It opens the options to attend both if you want and an extended influx of tourists, thus bringing in additional funds to our area. Nashville hotels already can only support something like 70% of the city's demands, we don't need ALL the music fans to show up at the same time.

So more demand is a bad thing?
No, I disagree. There are many artists that could do both venues. I'm local also, and I know what cma does to downtown Nashville.
I think there would be some people, from Nashville and the surrounding area, who would be torn between events.
I can tell you for a fact, downtown Nashville has very little phone traffic increase due to Bonnaroo. I feel that artists from either event could play both, but 90% of the artists wouldn't do well at both. Its not like Kenny Chesney and Bjork are going to conflict. Someone like Jack White could do both.

But could they not do both the way it currently is? Or are you saying Bonnaroo's really lacking a Margaritaville sponsor?

I'm fine either way. I was just stating that, if they do happen to be over the same weekend, then there could be a big silver lining.

I personally don't want them on the same weekend because I try to go to both every year. That probably isn't a common problem with members and lurkers of this board, but I love country music and love to go to CMA one weekend and Roo the next. However, if they are on the same weekend, the choice is easy......Bonnaroo all the way!

And you've got a good argument. Honestly though, I see no reason for the Bonnaroo promoters to change their date, because of CMA. I would hope we could get lots of unannounced collaborations.
I'm not a massive country music fan. Most tennessee folks of my generation were rock rednecks. Country is way more pop then it used to be.
You know, I wouldn't have thought that a simple thread asking about potential dates for Bonnaroo 2015 could produce this much stupidity, but here we are.
