Anyone excited that Premier League is back? I'm definitely excited its back, not so excited about Arsenal's performance today.
I am a West Ham supporter, so I was thrilled by the match today. Looking forward to the season, it should be very competitive.
Haha! I bet you were thrilled! But yes, I definitely agree that it should be a competitive year all around. I watched a bunch of the other matches too and it seems like it will be a good year across the board.

Louisville City FC is in the USL playoffs and I got tickets for their opening match!! So pumped.
In UEFA news -
HAHA Man U. What happened to the City that's been dominating EPL? PSG looked okay.
Other than that a pretty boring opening round of matches. Looking forward to see if Chelsea can pull it together now that they're in Europe's competition. FCB and Roma is gonna be a great matchup I think.
I agree the team needs to get younger in certain positions. I don't mind the mls players because most of them are pretty good. The team needs to play with more possession and pressure higher up the pitch. Stop letting teams play in our half

Does anybody collect kits, scarves, or the like?
I've been considering starting a collection of something. I'm leaning towards scarves b/c they're cheaper, or even knits, because they're even cheaper and I can use them.
Any advice?
Also Brentford's in the relegation zone. This season has been such a shit show. We've had a lot of injuries but we still need to pull it together.

So first off way to go Timbers.
Next - almost at the winter break, who do you see winning the EPL? At this point I have no clue. No team is consistently playing well enough for me to have a favorite at this point.

This feels like a season where a team like Leicester City could pull it off. The winter break and transfer window will cull the field a bit, in my opinion. At this point I'd say anyone in the top 15 has at least a shot if they get their shit together.

Thoughts on UCL draw? It's WAY too early for Juv vs Bayern. RMA getting lucky as usual. Barca vs Arsenal will be really entertaining I think. Hopefully Chelsea shits the bed.

PSG is the scariest team remaining. Once they make mince meat of Chelsea they could blaze a path for Milan. Outside of Barcelona, they're the only team I would pick in any situation. Barca-PSG would be a tossup.
England can say goodbye to the fourth UCL spot. Chelsea-PSG and Barca-Arsenal will not be good for that coefficient of theirs. Man City-Dynamo, however, is the bright spot. I'll take Man City over Dynamo eight times out of ten.
That we got Zenit-Benfica and Gent-Wolfsburg means that we'll see two smaller (for the CL at least) clubs advancing. I think this is a good thing, although the winners of those matchups will probably get smacked in the quarters unless Roma squeaks by or they draw the winner of Atletico-PSV.
Juve-Bayern is interesting. Juve's getting their groove back and Bayern should be at full strength by matchday. I think Bayern wins pretty comfortably.
I thinks the winners are:
Wolfsburg Benfica PSG Barca Bayern RM Atletico Man City
Of those, Man City, Barca, Bayern, and PSG have a chance to actually win the tournament.

1. Barca 2. Bayern 3. PSG / Atl
Those are your top 3 teams in Europe currently, imo.
I think any one of those 4 could win and I wouldn't be THAT surprised. I may change my tune when City has Aguero and Kompany back, they were looking very good at the start of the season. Realistically I don't see anyone except Barca winning, they're only going to get better once Vidal and Turan can start getting minutes next month.

No surprises. Still can't believe they got rid of Ancelotti. It would've made sense if a top-tier coach was available, but to sack Carlos and hire Rafa? We'll see about Zidane I suppose. The big 3 in Liga are doing all they can to keep the race interesting so the season is surprisingly still not a total lost cause for Madrid. The only really tough away fixture they have left is Barca. Plus they're still in the UCL so...
Also - so excited to see Arda start getting minutes. Barca was already looking great, they're about to become even more impossibly good.
What about the carousel in EPL? LVG is looking safe in his position again after the win over Swansea. I still think Guardiola goes to City during the summer, but what about Jose? I really wanna see a Pep vs Jose Manchester derby.

I'm more excited to see Pep v Klopp again.
Speaking of Klopp, LFC kinda fell apart against Arsenal today. Salvaged it late, but they could've had a better result.
Due to the events of the last 24 hours, I've become just a little more partial towards Liverpool and Tottenham. Fuck Arsenal and fuck Stan Kroenke.
Does anybody here have experience with international memberships? I might pick one up...maybe.

Thoughts on the Superdraft:
What the hell just happened? I think we (the Fire) are a lot better for it, and Vincent's a day-one and he's marketable (something this team has been sorely lacking). But is he worth it?
