Alana on bass is the best thing to happen to them in a while. The songs had far more fluent rhythm than past live performances. The '11 sunrise set will always be at top Roo show for me. Hopefully they close a tent Fri or Sat

just remembering i think sts9 was the first LN band I ever saw at bonnaroo. pretty sure it was friday 2003. all my friends crashed out and i wandered into centeroo and sts9 was playing that tent. mike gordon sat in with them and it blew my young lil' mind.
So I've seen STS9 about 7 times with Alana and that was hands down the best STS9 show I have ever attended
I thought it was the best show of the weekend and also was easily the best/coolest party crowd that I saw assembled at Bonnaroo. I loved the extended set and them closing with Baraka was a top festival moment for me. So bad ass. I'd only say that the first Waka set from Friday the week before might have been even better (brought out Big G in that set): But yeah, there isn't much I would pick to see over Tribe at a festival.
Man now I'm bummed because I walked over to this after FlyLo and I could not get into it at all. This was my like 5th time seeing them (second time with Alana) and I just didn't dig it, though I don't think it was their fault. My brain just couldn't transition from a FlyLo to STS9 given all circumstances. Stayed around for like 30 minutes but gave up on it and went back to camp to drink beer with friends til the sun came up.
