My older kid told me today that he's never actually listened to Kanye. Anyone got a recommendation on what album he should try if he's only gonna do one or a short playlist?

I mean, college dropout and the little intro that he was a well respected beat maker but some thought he wouldn't work as a rapper is a great introduction and how I first listened. Saw the video for Through the Wire and the whole story about the car crash and jaw wired shut was compelling. Then when I learned/realized he made beats for a lot of songs I loved (specifically for Jay Z) made me really dig into him more.
I'm not the biggest fan of him now and am not s huge fan of changing albums a dozen times after releasing them but his talent is still there.
But nothing matches the roc a fella years for me and his first few albums and work with Jay.
After his mom passed he's been hit or miss for me based on music and personal stuff.

I saw an article that said he was planning a tour here already and was reserving venues and shit but I haven’t heard anything about it.
The article I saw in NME said the promoter was TEG, which is where I work. I’m going to email our head of touring on Monday if she doesn’t come to me first to see what’s going on with it. I know they were pitching for a tour after the Kanye x Drake concert in LA (which was a co-pro with TEG) but then I never heard anything more about it so I thought it just dropped off…. Will be interesting to see when he plans to announce bc the article I saw said he was planning dates in March..

I mean might as well give him the full on experience and start at CD and watch the transition from one album to the next. Really can’t go wrong with anything from the CD to Cruel Summer eras. Yeezus is when it really starts to get polarizing.

What a baby lol. This guy is against "cancel culture" so he works with Marilyn Manson but gets all worked up over Billie Eilish making a comment and Kid Cudi being friends with someone.

He went on an IG posting spree these last 24 hours trying to tear Pete down. Calling him a bunch of names, and insinuating that he had an affair with Hillary Clinton. And then hes screenshotting fan comments that are bashing Pete and applauding them.
I honestly don't know how anyone can continue to support this clown. Kanye and Pete were never friends, and yet Kanye thinks Pete owes him some sort of loyalty to not date Kim. Kim's not allowed to date anyone in his eyes, even though he's had 3 public girlfriends in the last 6 months.
And he's also trying to bully a 20 year old Billie Eilish because she helped an asthmatic fan. In his eyes its wrong to punish rapists and abusers, but OK to attack young females for doing the right thing. I can't stomach this man anymore. It helps that his last 3 albums were complete trash.
His Instagram is a complete shitshow. I always tried to defend him bc of his mental health issues but bringing their kids and strangers into their business like this crosses a major line. So sad for everyone honestly.

i went from “psyched to see him perform a career spanning set” to “ i have zero desire to see this man” so fast over the past week
He's always been a bit mentally unstable but people had frequently ignored it when convenient and celebrated it as part of his eccentric genius when he'd fight a fashionable cause celebre.
In recent years it's hard to find anything that I really agree with him on, and while I find entertainment in his recent rants, I get increasingly worried that something very bad will happen. He's always been big on family, and as his whole world gets more and more distorted and adversarial I really worry about the guy and what could happen one day without his support system. I'll leave it at that.

This is straight-up domestic violence. Emotional abuse and cyber bullying, ignored or laughed-at by the media. I am as far from a Kardashian fan as one can be, but the way the media has made it a circus rather than a damnation is so irresponsible not only to the immediate parties, but also to those who find themselves in a similar dynamic.

But the fanboys will still be fanboys.
Sure. As long as we have patriarchal rape culture as the ocean we swim in, there will always be people (hashtag not-always-men) who cannot or will not acknowledge / contend with someone's harmful behavior if they're a fan of their art. I come from a show biz family and woo-wee the stories I could say...but yah, things are always 5x as nasty as what mainstream media reports.

For the Kardashians: "Thats what the money is for"
Sure feels good that I was never a fan of this f*cking reckless clown. Time and time again he has shown us how colossal of a d*ckhead he is, but people still give him leeway.
