Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
If that post was from years ago, that means I've been using outdated alpha psychology. What have you learned during recent "field resarch" that I should know?
Recent studies based on field research by the Surfbum Institute of Applied Female Psychology indicate a positive correlation between male wealth and female attraction. That correlation is strengthened when males dispense that wealth to females via their alpha-tits.
*Data was gathered by personal experience and is abso-friggin-lutely correct.
Don't misquote me. There is zero correlation between money and the ability to attract a quality woman.
What I do outside of this forum is irrelevant to weather Juggs can feed his ego by being allowed to have a second account by which he can accomplish exactly the same thing he can with the account he already has.
3) you are an idiot.
Just to make it crystal clear. Like COMPLETELY TOTALLY CLEAR, yes, I buy and sell tickets to concerts, sporting events and festivals including but not limited to Bonnaroo. I don't think a month has gone by in 5 years when I haven't handled tickets for the purpose of profit.
And I will continue doing exactly that so I can go to shows cheap or free. But I won't do that here. So fuck off.

If you can't follow the board rules, which you seem to hold so dear and are the entire basis of your argument in this thread, can you at least follow the "Bonnaroovian Code?"
Nice guys finish in a napkin. Awesome guys finish on her (fill in the blank).
The sweet/nice guy just is not generally attractive to women. Even though they would probably make a better boyfriend or husband, the sweet boy just does not get women's juices flowing.
There are very good, fundamental, evolutionary (and probably outdated - but our subconscious is so POWERFUL) reasons for this.
The bottom line, though, is (just an analogy - don't read too much into it) the dog wants to chase the darting rabbit, not the stationary rock. The sweet, sappy, pining, weak guy in this analogy is the rock.
Not to mention, Alpha guys are not outwardly sweet generally. Inside they may be, and they may show it away from other people.
Chicks dig the Alpha. End of story.
(disclaimer: all of this is GENERALITIES, and quite accurate - even though there will be some disagreement)
To anybody who tries to integrate himself into a community of music lovers, only to turn around and dick over other music lovers for years on end for an easy buck (and without an ounce of shame about it)... you are nothing more than a scumbag opportunist, and you are part of the problem.

You don't have any clue what my ticket business looks like, and how I end up with tickets so you should think about that before making such a statement.

So, you make a profit selling tickets at or below face value?

Does the IRS have a clue about your "ticket business"?
It's that schedule C income, or do you do it through schedule E forms?

Almost all of it comes at or below face. As a matter of fact I give away about as many tickets as I sell. No kidding, no exaggeration. I have given away literally hundreds of tickets for FREE. To big shows.

Yeah, maybe, but I have a really difficult time believing this.

Ok - Ask Scrog.
My first Wanee I had 3 tickets I got. One I used, one I gave to my cousin and the other one I called him to see if I could donate it to QSAROO or if e knew anyone who would be a good candidate to give it to. In the end I ended up miracling someone in with a ticket to Wanee. 250$ ish. I bet he will remember.
And frankly, I don't care if you don't believe me but it sucks to have my character attacked because people are reacting on ignorance
Edit: just so I'm clear I gave the ticket away outside of the gate for free. Face Value was like 250$ish

Just curious (notafed).
None of your business, thanks.
I think you took that all wrong; if you are losing gobs of $ by giving away HUNDREDS of tickets, you should claim 503(c) status - nonprofit - and write off those losses. Form an LLC with a mission statement of helping all those needy lovers of song by spreading the knowledge of musicians you would rather not go see.
You don't have any clue what my ticket business looks like, and how I end up with tickets so you should think about that before making such a statement.
And you don't have any clue how many times people just like you have screwed me over for tickets, only to list them for triple the price minutes later on StubHub & Viagogo. Or hey, maybe you do, since that's your bread and butter. You said yourself you've turned a profit every month for years, and that's really all any of us need to know. It's not like you couldn't make a concert here or there, and then sold your ticket for the going rate on a third-party site... that, I could understand.
But I'll give you a chance. Explain to me how exactly your business model operates under a proper, ethical code. I'll wait.
...no? Nothing?
You should think long and hard about this before making your own preposterous claims that I don't understand, or whatever. It's pretty fucking simple - you are making it more difficult for others to go to concerts, just so you can go to more concerts yourself.

Just trying to help.
Again, none of your business. You have it wrong, and I won't explain.

Sincerely, Every other poster on this whole damn board.
Still, you have zero clue how it works.
I'm sorry you've been burnt, but I haven't burnt you, or anyone else for that matter.
Again, you have zero knowledge of how it works and I'm not interested in explaining it.
However, let me draw a comparison.
Does anyone give phi any shit for being opportunistic and getting free ticksts to festivals by utilizing social media? No because there is nothing wrong with what he is doing. He is working for what he gets. I am also. It's different, but no less ethical.
I buy and sell tickets, but that doesn't mean I'm jacking prices or even charging going rate. I have a way that is legal, moral and ethical as to how I get the ticksts. I work for them and that's the most I'll share.
So stop projecting your anger from past experiences on me and assuming I am doing something shitty.

You should probably tag him if you are going to drag him into this.

So you post that you are buying up extra tickets to list when official ones sell out. (If you are selling them at or especially below face value, why wait until they sell out, by the way?)
Gab calls you a scalper. Your response is essentially, "yes, I am a scalper, but I don't do it here."
Sleepy calls you a scumbag, and really, if you're a scalper, he's totally not wrong.
You turn around and say, "No, I'm not a scalper. I have a super secret method for profiting by selling tickets at or below face value and also giving away shitloads of them."
So, I'm really not maligning your character here. I'm just saying it's not believable.

That would be moral and ethical.
I'm on my phone and haven't cared to learn how to tag people, but if you want to, feel free.

I can't imagine why you'd be so reluctant to share your methods if they were truly 100% ethical. I'm not asking you to tell me what company you work for or how I can get them so cheaply too - but the way you keep dodging the question makes this all sound like a very "fell off the back of a truck" excuse. By all means, feel free to prove me wrong with some actual concrete details.
Ummm... Phi runs a moderately popular music blog. He has invested in expensive photography equipment, honed his artistic skills and grown an audience, so he now gets approved for press passes because the publicity it brings the festival/venue & the artist helps generate revenue and increase brand recognition. I don't think you could have picked a more different example to compare yourself to.

I said I'm a scalper? If like to see that quoted.
I buy and sell tickets. And I have several ways that I get tickets, but 2 main ways. And there are good reasons why I don't want to give away my secrets and have been vague. Some tickets I buy and some I work for. And some I get free. In the end I end up giving away tickets a lot. My lost recent was I gave away a pair of free VIP tickets to a Phillip Phillips concert. 5th row, VIP wristbands free drinks the whole 9 yards. Free. I paid nothing for them and was offered money for them and declined.
I said you essentially admitted to being a scalper, which I based on this post in which you said you "buy and sell tickets" for profit. Notice that you said nothing about getting free or reduced price tickets that you sell at or below face value or give away, so it should be pretty obvious why some of us read "scalper" into that.
I'm not assuming anything about you. I'm telling you how this appears from one person's perspective.
I'm sorry you've been burnt, but I haven't burnt you, or anyone else for that matter.

Aaaaand I am done with this conversation.
First of all, I told you, I work for them.
I'm not giving more details because they are of a somewhat sensitive nature. I don't want anything to stop my flow of tickets. I don't owe you an explanation. I don't owe anyone an explanation. But I do work for them, and I want the opportunity to continue working for them. And to be quite blunt, I don't trust everyone on this board not to blow my ticket stream just to be an ass.
Just because Phi has a music blog and I have a different method doesn't automatically make mine wrong.
It's a very good comparison based on what I know about how I go about things. I'm sorry you are too close minded to te possibility that I'm not a piece of shit.

Perspective - a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view.
Assumption - a thing that is accepted as true or as certain to happen, without proof.
Your perspective came from an assumption.
I can totally see how my post could be taken as I'm a scalper. However, instead of saying "scalping is shitty, are you charging crazy prices and screwing music lovers?" You jumped to the conclusion that I was based on partial information and past experiences.
Now it's not totally your fault, I should have been more sensitive to the fact that someone was going to take exception to what I do and misunderstand it. I could have been more forthcoming.
I'll give up one way. I work for a company with a connection to all the venues in the area that go through one promotional company. It's a lot of venues. Sometimes people, knowing that I get amazing seats for everything, come to me and say "hey, can you get me tickets to Dave Matthews? I'll make it worth your while" and I get them tickets and they pay me, or give me a pair if they bought 4, or give me merchandise from their store which I turn around and sell.
That's one example. There are other ways I make things happen.

I'm going to guess you go schedule C based on this. I still think incorporating is the better way, based on the volume you claim. Corporate tax allows for more rapid amortization of sunk costs, therefore diminished tax liability on the gain you achieved through converting the payment for labor you report in the form of tickets vis a vis the capital gain you have in terms of cashy money you get by scalping those tickets.
Barter income is still income. It is wise to report it and the associated loss in giving away all those tickets.
While I know a little bit, I am not a tax guru; recommend you talk to someone else whose help you may need.
