I have heard solid mentions on The Dead and Phish. This is the first mention I've heard of WSP for next year.
It means nothing. It's the guy's wishlist.
I hear ya. I have also heard from others who are sort of in the know that alternating sets like SCI and Umphreys had last year are being discussed for Phish and The Dead.
So I saw the article OP got his info from. Some Weir biographer said this, and said it would be Dead>Phish>Dead>Phish one night and Phish>Dead>Phish>Dead the next, along with that WSP/Band set.
I'd be good if they didn't include Phish with my Dead though. Kinda a bummer to go from hardcore dead raging to halfstock Phish noodling.
The guy said The Dead were doing an East and a West Coast residency and may do a few other festival dates as well.
Prince/The Dead/??? @ Bonnaroo would be f'n insane.
I would say The Dead are a lock for Lock'n (no lame pun intended), and that I am actually gonna make it next year if that is the case.
They should have it be The Dead / NYCH / Phish / WSMFP

I'd love to see the Dead at Roo. I seem to remember last year Lesh signing a festival exclusivity clause with the guy that puts on Lockn. I don't know if that is binding for this year or if it even applies to a Dead reunion show.
That seems pretty dumb for Shapiro to request that from Lesh. I doubt there are many people that would not go to Lock'n so they could do Bonnaroo instead.
They're three months apart, hundreds of miles apart, and deadheads are just gonna go to both fests if they both happen.

I thought at the time it had more to do with Lockn building its rep among the jam fests and beating out others like All Good. Again, I don't know all the details. It may have just applied to Lesh and Friends shows.

Yeah, I was never a huge Hip fan but saw them in 2013 and was blown away. One of the bets shows I have been to. It was a rainy outdoor show but that made it so much better. April is an arena show so that will be interesting as well.

I will say this, if there was ever a chance for New Grass Revival to have another reunion show this could be it. With Cowen already being there and Sam Bush being a regular. Hopes are prob way too high, but I am holding out.

They tried at Bonnaroo several years ago and it fell apart, it would be awesome though.
They tell us "Rock'n'roll is the devil's music." Well, let's say we know that rock is the devil's music, and we know that it is, for sure … At least he fuckin' jams! If it's a choice between eternal Hell and good tunes, and eternal Heaven and New Kids on the fuckin' Block … I'm gonna be surfin' on the lake of fire, rockin' out.
That was the weirdest booking on that first EForest lineup. I would have been more stoked about that than all the EDM crap and 6th tier jamtronica acts.
