Yup :-) I think they got tired of seeing the RLARS pits half empty.
How did this work exactly?
We didn't get pit for rubblebucket, but we got pit for the districts, one in our group had pit for slayer, one for superjam, and a couple other scattered stories of entry that fail me now.

Ah okay. So possibly just confused security?
More than likely yes, though there seemed to be a substantial amount more confusion this year than last

There is no security at Roo other than confused security. You never know if you're being told the truth or bullshit and neither does the security person.
That was the whole draw to VIP to me, so I guess I'm out.
Whatever! The skipping the GA line to get in, the bathrooms and the free ice cream makes it all worth it. No question.
Closer viewing is the only really appealing part to me, though now I see that doesn't exist. I don't mind GA camping, don't really mind the lines driving in or walking in, and rarely have to wait for than a minute or so for a bathroom. But, all that said, I'll probably do it one year just to try a different side of the festival since I love Bonnaroo so much. Thanks for the feedback.

They have closer viewing on the which and what. Also we woke up to Florence soubd checking in the morning, you could see the main stage from your tent. During the hottest part you of the day you got live music at your campsite. I'm old, it's the little things.

From a close viewing perspective it's only Which that makes it worth it. The Hill is meh and the tents offer nothing for VIP. But the Which viewing area is awesome and as somebody mentioned - I love when a band I want to see is at Which.
I also really like VIP for the proximity to Centeroo because we RV. GA RV gets you a long walk to Centeroo.

Have fun getting molested on the way into Centeroo everyday. Also good luck trying to sneak anything in.

ha! Easy killer. I've never had a problem with security in any of my 13 years going. I've got a trustworthy face. And I don't try to sneak stuff in except for a few glowsticks, so no worries.
No. Same as any other year. The pink safety people don't know what they're doing on Thursday, then eventually figure it out.

Don't let that be the draw. I got into the VIP tent pits Thursday night and Friday during the day. The sound is terrible, you see 25% of the stage production, and the crowd isn't energetic. VIP is worth it for the close camping vicinity, relaxed searches, AC bathrooms and lounges, and short wait to get through the tollbooths, not the viewing areas.
Something I noticed this year, once you're outside of the arch, and you get into the VIP camping area, I swear it felt like the temperature dropped by about 5 degrees, the noise died away quickly, and relaxation set in.
someone should ask about VIP viewing in the tests at next years AMA. i'd be curious what the official answer is
Follow the $. VIP ticket costs $750, and artist / guests passes are more or less an element of compensation for playing a set at roo. Why would they ever give artists and guests access to VIP camping or amenities? I saw several guest passes get turned away at the which VIP area and they all complained but I don't honestly see the confusion there.

How did you answer a post I made in another thread with a quote from this one?
