My girlfriend lost her little sister on Sunday morning. She had been struggling with some demons for a while, and unfortunately they conquered her before she conquered them. She was 20 years old and full of positive vibes and exuberance.
In honor of her, we are planning on participating in the Root for Roo program, we feel the best way to remember her is to not mourn the loss, but instead create new life. She never got the chance to attend the festival with us, but we had always talked about it as something we were going to do together. I've set up a gofundme page here: GoFundMe Page . I'm not looking for donations from you guys unless you absolutely feel compelled to, the money isn't an issue at all, we just want anyone and everyone who wants to be a part of this special life.
One more thing, anyone out there that's struggling with addiction or any demons like that, please PLEASE never be too embarassed or scared to seek help, I'm just hoping that at least one life can be saved from this.

Thanks for the kind words guys, we did get funded very quickly! Our Roo group really showed up for my girlfriend. I am planning on cashing out the fund today and we are going to apply for the tree this week. We also plan on bringing her boyfriend from NC with us as well (we live in FL), he'll be a Roo newb this year.
I believe the tree is planted after you make payment, so hopefully we can get a solid 6 months of growth out of it and have a bigger tree that we can all hang around.

One more follow up on this, because I am very happy with how Southbranch Nursery and the Bonnaroo team handled this. We emailed the nursery asking if we could designate a Tulip Poplar tree (it blooms yellow in the Spring, and Yellow was her little sister's favorite color). They were very quick with responding and assuring us that we could have that tree.
Josh from the nursery followed up again today, saying that he will make sure we get the tree we want. Little things like that go a long way, especially in sad times like these.
