I have a question for those of you who drive in for the festivities. I read there is a seperate parking area, but are you still in the same long lines as the folks trying to get into the camping areas?
I found a hotel...(did not want to do the packages online..they seemed pretty $$$), the Super 8 in Mufreesboro and from what I read, it is about 30 miles away. Just trying to get an idea of planning times.
Woah 30 miles every day???? Not to be a buzz kill but thats gonna suck.
I'm sure the longest line you'll wait in will be on Thursday and Friday because thats when everybody is arriving....Sat, Sun you'd think wouldn't be too bad.....but 30 miles....seems like you'll be doing more traveling than actual concert seeing.

I have not driven in each day no, but I drove to Roo and back last year and it isn't such a bad drive. And I admit it is a long drive in, but it is really my only option this year - due to dogs, kids and other responsibilities.
From what other people have told me, (unless you arrive on Thursday - and then you will hit traffic no matter what) you get straight in and out of day parking with no waiting.

Thats good news....being able to avoid lines would make that option a hellaova lot better
We stayed in a hotel in Tulahoma(sp?) last year. About 10 min. away. We arrived Fri., Sat., and Sun. morning around 11:00am. Did not have to wait 1 minute. Drove right in, checked by security, parked and walked in. No problems. We left Fri., Sat. night around 2:00am and, once again, did not wait 1 minute. Left Sunday around 6:30pm...had to get back to work and just drove right out! The hotel thing worked out well. The drive was not bad and it was great to shower and refresh each night.......but then again we are older f@$rts. Hope this helps.

If we get there on Thursday, can we park in day-parking, then go set up our tents in the camp-only area? I have to leave on Saturday morning for a nearby wedding, then will return on Saturday early evening. Would I be able to park in day-park on Thursday, set up tents in camp-only area, drive out of day-parking on Saturday morning, come back in on Saturday evening, and return to my tent area? Does this seem unreasonable to anyone that has utilized the day-parking for staying in hotel??? Thanks!

That seems like the best way of doing things if you have to leave. I don't think day parking is any further from tent only than any other place you may be put. At least you know for sure that you can come and go as you please.
