I offered a choice of Jazmo or Munky, but only one of them remains a value choice. With not much else to go on, I'm sticking with the one I have from that proposal It's only fair that Surf gets to go to the dance with the one that brought him by breaking the equilibrium in the first place.
Cap'n Mac whether it be reason on rando, I'm happy to reciprocate.
I've made my thoughts known on expanding the runoff, and I've made my thoughts known on continuing to reciprocate my vote with yours. I can't do both here.
I know, and I disagree on that point. Having more people in a runoff is helpful, right up until it isn't. You can't really glean a lot of useful info from a run-off with half the game involved.
You say ten of eleven players receiving votes is troublesome for mafia; speaking from experience I can say that's exactly what mafia wants, because where does that get us? Nowhere, except in a position where one person's vote can affect the outcome of the round. That's why you see the same thing happen on Day 1 in most games... divide and conquer. You learn far more about voting patterns when you put a handful of the most suspicious players in and hope to pick out one mafioso, instead of throwing everyone and anyone in the mix.
While I'm personally a fan of a larger runoff, I'm wondering why you pushed it to 5 when you don't think it's a good idea to have half the game involved in a runoff.
It's not so much that we NEEDED five, but I figure it doesn't hurt either. I made a "let's change our votes" appeal, the other party (Sleepy) changed votes, and I feel I was upholding my end of the bargain. Also, I don't think it was out of line to be wary of Surf's early lead, which was why I specifically floated the idea of you or Munky when I mentioned it to Sleepy.
Makes sense. I voted for surf because everyone had one vote except for JFG, and voting for him would have gotten us nowhere. I figured it'd be good to stack somewhere and see what comes of it.

The deadline is extended to 10 PM EST tonight because of the recent vote changes. Everyone should have a chance to see them and comment. The deadline tonight is a hard deadline.
Will a runoff last through the entire weekend, then? Curious because we're going to have a holly jolly clusterfuck of a schedule to contend with later in the game.

It may. Despite being a Jew, I have a hard time believing that people won't be able to check their phones while they ARENT at work over the holidays. I'll try to be sensitive regarding deadlines during that time but ultimately I'm going to try to keep the game moving within reason.
(As an example, I'm not going to make a deadline for Christmas morning or New Year's Day, etc. But people who can't make a deadline on a day like December 28 should have to answer to the other players. That seems like a fair framework to me).
So, to confirm: Initial vote deadline is tonight. Runoff one deadline is... Monday?
Yes, and probably Sunday night. I'm a fan of a Sunday night deadline for rounds that extend into the weekend (especially in the winter when large swaths if Inforoo aren't at music festivals).
Ref Notes -voting will close when all votes are cast. depending on activity, I may close voting early at the end of Friday...or I may let it run into the weekend.

What are you talking about? This was the current tally when I changed my vote:

No solid reason to vote for anyone in particular, but I gotta get this going somehow. I worked backwards from least shady to most, and there haven't really been enough moves to have the shade cast real dark yet.
JFG > Surf
Based on votes so far, I'd like to see him continue in the runoff.

Why do you find him most shady out of the people in the runoff?
Just to be clear 'most shady' is a very relative term at this point in the game. I don't have any solid feeling, but based on voting patterns in the past (confirmed by him) his vote was very surprising.
I got nothing else to go on besides things that seem to make a few others seem less shady in comparison. I gotta pick one of the five; want to see how others will react, and maybe I'll have more to go on. I'm hoping the runoff does not end with a five-way.
My vote for Tejas pushed it to two people - not five. Check your facts.
I was referring to kdogg.
While it's true that my vote made this into a five-way runoff, I'm not so sure about your take on my reasoning. It almost seems like you attributed part of what Sleepy said about runoff size in that exchange to my own words.

KDogg I'm not sure I know what you mean by "my take" of your reasoning. You gave your reasoning for why you pushed the runoff to five, and all I said was that it that makes sense. Then I gave my own reasoning for stacking on surf. I mistakenly quoted sleepy in the process but you picked up that I was referring to you.
