OK, first, all of you are a suspicious bunch of people. There is only 1 person I was able to sort of clear reading through the thread and that person is Surf.
That leaves us with 5 people, each of whom has done some interesting things.
My vote will stay where it is. I still find Jaz the most suspicious of the lot as far as the runoff goes. I expect that Carini12 will be lynched. I also predict Jaz will not be whacked by the mafia. If jaz is not whacked by the mafia after claiming to be inspector that will only increase suspicion (I would think) that Jaz is probably mafia. Jaz your claim to be inspector only seems to make the waters even murkier esp. because you "revealed" yourself so early in the voting process.
Provided I'm not whacked by mafia I already know who I'm voting for in the next round. I'm raising my left eyebrow at you kdogg.
When I threw Monkey out there last round, it was more of a red herring to see which way people jumped. He falls into the same category as Jaz in that he has done a lot of suspicious things, but what is much more interesting to me is the beating he has taken from a lot of other players. Could he be mafia? Maybe, but the early stack and relative silence this round tends to make me think he may be town.
You. I saw what you posted above. It is what it is. At this point, I would rather focus on who is in the runoff and why. Then we can come back to it tomorrow.
I think there is plenty of suspicion on jazmo and I have some suspicion on jazmo myself. My vote is on carini and hasn't moved since the game started but it is for a hollow reason. That vote was a continuation of the aborted previous game. I don't really have a reason to keep my vote on carini and I do have small reasons to vote for jazmo, but there's no reason to switch now as it looks likely that both will be in the next runoff. I'm trying to figure out what to do, if anything, for runoff #2. I could see myself switching to jamzo in runoff #2. From my perspective, I was trying to get clarification from munky more than getting suspicion moved to or moved away from any other players.
Curious why you call people out for liking posts later in the game when the above post is one that you edited. If you know the rules (and I don't care that your are 3 games in, it is clear you know the game) why do something that is a faux pas without leaving the original and posting the correction as half a dozen people have done in this game? There are a bunch of other red flags throughout the game, but looking at votes, you may have gotten "stuck" on carini early, where changing would have made it look like you were protecting him. It looked safe to stay on him until the inspector came out then there was no value to change.
Also if we assume KDogg was mafia, you voted for monky and bit hard in that direction. You were the first to throw a vote on him this round with no real explanation why.
Basically, I knew I was in the runoff and I wasn't going to change that. So, thinking through what would happen if we had our votes on each other going into the runoff, I thought I'd make my vote movable. More options. If Jaz and I voted for each other it would be tough to get my vote off him since his vote was still on me. That way moving my vote actually has more of an effect.
Of course, this is just a theory - and I've yet to see how it plays out, but it made sense to me at the time.
My first consideration was weather or not I should just reciprocate and call it a day. Ultimately I figured someone else would get him in the runoff anyways, because of the confusion with his posts. Either way, I get to free my vote up to move with less risk to myself
In the past, haven't you said that you believe that anyone who voted for you is mafia in your eyes, deserving a reciprocal vote? By what you just typed you thought Jazmo was sure to get votes based on inconsistencies in posting.
Why would you need to change your vote from someone you suspect to be mafia if you thought everyone else would pile on him due to suspicion regarding those inconsistencies? What would "locked" votes matter at that point? Still confused, but thanks for (semi) explaining.
Lots of weird posts by this one sticks out to me because again, a new player is pulling in detail from past games while they claim dont vote for me, I'm new! But, voting record does not show much except that he extended the last round (a good thing) and ended up voting for KDogg. For now, I am putting him in the wait until tomorrow camp.
Tejas:
I have nothing to really point to right now. Maybe because I missed something, maybe because his posts came after a few other people. I am not sure where to put him though. Voting record wise, he is definitely not off the radar. But for now, there are other things to look at, so moving past him.
Hakuna:
I went into the reading not thinking too much about Mr. Mattata, and then he ended up with 3 of the most suspicious quotes:
Not that it really matters, but I think there have been a lot of good points brought up. Basically I almost never beleive a convenient inspector claim, but I do think he brings up some good defense. This kinda reminds me of the situation a few games back where Carini was inspector and nailed me day 1, if felt so clear that he was right and everyone believed that we didn't even bother pulling a fake play and basically just wanted the round to end as soon as possible. I'm suspicion of anyone that jumped from jaz to carini quickly, and in the same note gaining confidence in those of you hoping to keep the round open,
I don't think it's going to happen and I know not everyone's kinda of play but the way I see things jaz is not going to make it to day 2 no matter what. We keep him alive and he gets whacked, and we have nothing left to work with. We kill him, carini doesn't get whacked but we assume he is mafia and just take him out day, we somewhere to start with a whack. i actually feel like what's going on a pretty big mafia spin in which case I think we are way off, or things are pretty cut and dry and I have a good idea of what is going on.
I think this is a case of the obvious answer is the right answer. Since the votes are so screwed, I'll stay on jazmo for conversations sake, but I think Carini is the right kill.
I understand why I'm suspicious. It's sort f my mo when I'm actually a townie. I do think jumping behind the inspectors guess at the other mafia that quickly though is really suspicious. Jazmo essentially knew as much as we do know, so I don't understand why his suspicions are more credible then your own opinion. Jazmo has no other knowledge that you couldn't formulate yourself at this current point, so for you to say your following his random guess and stacking is shady as hell and going for an easy kill in my eyes.
Hakuna >> KDogg
OK, so on the surface and when they were posted, these don't stick out. But given the benefit of hindsight, they stand out a bit more. The move to Jazmo was after it would be pretty clear to a mafia member he was a possible inspector instead of mafia. I moved off of him in the hopes he would shut up about the inquisition and the Carini thing made a lot more sense as a mafia move, but he kept going. Hakuna is a good player and would have read the signs as well.
The second quote is why he does not move off of Jaz, which is fine, but he is also trying to bring up some doubt and muddy the waters. It is basically a null post at a time when Hakuna is being very very quiet.
The 3rd post is the opening salvo between KDogg and Hakuna. IMO, it is the most damning for 2 reasons. First, it creates the "But look, I voted for KDogg" defense, and allows him to use that. Notice that they quickly move off of each other after I offer up Monky as an option, and Hakuna goes back under water. Second, it seems incredibly contrived for Hakuna. His posts when he is a townie are normally a lot more circumspect and thoughtful. In this post, he is aggressive and inflammatory with zero provocation.
Add to all of this the fact that he is now on the Monky train with very little explanation, and has been MIA all game makes him the prime suspect at this point. I am between him and Billy and I think it would be good if we could get a runoff between the two of them. For now though,
Viking >>> Hakuna
PS, sorry for the novel. For those who haven't played with me to date, you are lucky this is the first one I have posted. Ask the players who have.
2 - Wlviking opined we had two mafia in the runoff last round: kdogg & munky; now we have a post kinda looking to exonerate munky with the vote ending up on hakuna.
3 - How often do mafia let veteran townie players make it to round three?

You raise some really good points regarding Hakuna. I'm not entirely sold. I'm not saying there's no way he's mafia. But Tejas voted for him first followed by Kdogg who I strongly suspect was mafia. This was the exchange:
Following Jazmo's lead here, because some of my other suspicions currently feel like a coin flip.
I also get the impression that a lot of Jazmo's "spoiler alert" post about Carini being quiet also applies to how Hakuna is approaching this particular game.

Hakuna >> KDogg
I found it to be a fairly credible explanation. Just because Jaz was inspector didn't necessarily mean his suspicions held more weight than anyone else's at that point in the game. Kdogg switching his vote near the end and on to me made total sense. If he switched his vote to anyone else at that time he would have been dead. Hakuna had allot of time to find a reason to vote for someone else. But he didn't. My vote for Tejas is partly based him and someone I suspect was mafia voting for the same person without providing much explanation for the vote. Then switching his vote to me because -
The fact that this round is headed to a straight vote off is weird.
Tejas >> Monky
This vote sheltered Kdogg after I put him in a the lead. And I explained my vote for Kdogg and stuck to my guns that round. To me Tejas is the more suspicious.

1. Good point but mute. Sleepy was after KDOGG all game. He didn't move around at all. KDogg is dead how so we either got a mafia member or we didn't. Either way, sleepy leads us no where.
2. I explained why I moved and I didn't exonerate anyone. That is a huge leap to make based on what I posted. My question for you is why you don't you go back and reread? Are you just going with the flow or are you hiding something as you try to turn people back at me?
3. I am not just a veteran player. I am the Commissioner. I'll let other people explain why they either vote for me to live or die, but in most games i have played, the majority of my posts were the length of my previous one. I'm taking it easy this game.

as I said you are all a bunch of suspicious weasels
Jesus hell, I just read this thing straight through. What a clusterfuck. Worst Inforoo Mafia game ever?
And even though you took part in and witnessed the first Mafia 74 attempt go south, this is Mafia 74b because I had to tag fawnmart in a post to get someone to weigh in on the situation?

There are now two priceless quotes in this game. I'll get the other one shortly.
The current commissioner did not make a call on the first game because he is playing the game. That's why he did not comment and allowed the retired commish to step in.
Two rule infractions - neither of which i feel has an affect on the game - but please refrain from repeating said actions:
WLViking - no liking posts kdogg - stop posting unless its to wish every one a happy [insert holiday]
With Surf being absent I don't want to risk a straight lynch without any type of runoff. I said I was hesitant stacking on monky, I knew putting 3 votes when no one else had 2 votes makes it harder to have a runoff. Viking had some good reasoning for me to move my vote so I moved it.
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.
Sorry for the AWOL time - christmas time with 5 kids etc had me jumping lately.
I just read through everything and I'm actually fairly confused - And I think it's because of the weird flow of things probably because of the holiday.
Something doesn't sit right with me, and I feel like there needs to be the biggest possible runoff to decipher more.
Tejas, this isn't an accusation or consideration of suspicion, simply trying to get the runoff to 3.
2 - Wlviking opined we had two mafia in the runoff last round: kdogg & munky; now we have a post kinda looking to exonerate munky with the vote ending up on hakuna.

1. Just weird that no one even bothered to bring up the only clue we are given each round. Even if the whack being sleepy means nothing, does it mean something if we look at who wasn't whacked?
2. I said you kinda exonerated him - I am having trouble with the multi-quotes thing so here is your statement on munky:
"When I threw Monkey out there last round, it was more of a red herring to see which way people jumped. He falls into the same category as Jaz in that he has done a lot of suspicious things, but what is much more interesting to me is the beating he has taken from a lot of other players. Could he be mafia? Maybe, but the early stack and relative silence this round tends to make me think he may be town."
This is after you were said munky had a bunch of weird posts you would go over at a later date. This is also after you said you thought we had two mafia in a two way runoff - the two being Kdogg and munky. I don't think it was a huge leap to call question on this.
So was munky really suspicious, or was he a red herring you used to mislead me (and maybe others in the town) in regards to your thoughts regarding munky? When should I believe what you type?
3. oooookaaay. So you are the commissioner as well as a vet player; wouldn't that mean you know all the tricks and as a townie would be the most dangerous to the mafia? That would make you very whack-worthy...but still alive after two nights. BTW, this wasn't necessarily addressed to you, but you sure took at and ran with it. Don't take it so personal; I could have been referring to other players with experience.

1 - It is odd but not uncommon to not discuss the whack. You keep asking to discuss it, so discuss. What are your thoughts on it? You are fixated on it so I would love to hear what your thoughts are and why you are so fixated on it.
2 - I don't really understand your confusion here. I explained what I did, and why I did it. He was both suspicious and a red herring. Call him my best guess when I was pretty sure on KDogg. As to misleading YOU specifically, I cannot be held responsible if you are not capable of processing information and just want it spoon fed to you. I post to cause a reaction and I got one. What I do with that reaction plays out over the course of the game. As for believing ANYONE in this game, are you serious? You do know you are playing mafia right? Look through posts and figure out the patterns. Look at voting patterns. But even those can be manipulated. At the end of the day, you need to figure out your thoughts on your own. You cannot rely on anyone to do that because no one except the mafia has the full picture.
3 - I took it and ran with it as a joke. Personally, I think I have only ever been whacked 1 or 2 times. It is kind of a side effect of nearly breaking the game several times, and causing it to die for a while on inforoo. But that is a story for others to tell. Either way, I have been wrong and right, but I tend to end up in the end game. As stated, I am rarely whacked, and for one reason or another am rarely lynched.
As for this runoff, it is what it is at this point but there is still a vote left.
I thought the interpretation of the "like" rule was it is ok as long as the post doesn't pertain to game play
I am playing, but Fawn correctly interpreted the rules. My liking that post could have meant something deeper about the game (it did not in this case but still).
So many new players... Maybe I should go back to the old Viking style. Leave no land unscorched. All is fair in mafia? Of course, I would need to go to timeout for another 6 months after doing that...
One of the last games I played, it got to the point Druid came in and threatened the ban hammer to KDogg and I.

1. I'm not fixated on the whack (but clever of you to intimate that), just the lack of discussion. In my experience they usually warrant at least a little. I could be wrong, but you answering my question with a question may have distracted me. I'll just think my quiet little thoughts and let the big boys run agenda for the conversation.
2. Of course everything players post is taken with the proverbial grain of salt. My point was NOW I really can't believe what you say.
I'll never let anyone 'make' my vote for me (that is pretty silly thing to imply), but this thread is the only place townies can share ideas and you said you deliberately led us astray on munky (the player you were set to vote out last round), unless you were planning on getting around to all his suspicious posts eventually. Now that you have admitted to that, I will be beyond leery of other 'ideas' you put out there.
And why the personal attacks painting me as someone who needs things spoon fed to him, believing everyone...etc.? Do you feel I am attacking you by asking for clarification on two posts you made that were contradictory? It was not my intention.
3. I can only speak to my experiences. But I know I have felt stupid in the past when a sly, veteran player acting as Mafia made it to the end of the game when in hindsight if they were a townie they should have been a prime target for whacking. Especially in this game when we are thinking they no longer have to gun for inspector. Good on you for avoiding them - I don't remember being whacked either - I just figure they think I am not worth it.

Ok, one final try:
1 - Yes, you are fixated on the whack and now fixated on me. BTW, I did not intimate, I flat out said you were. And when I asked the question, you dodged it while I had the courtesy to answer yours several posts ago. So I will ask again. What are your thoughts? On the whack and the game as a whole. Why don't you want to share your opinions and instead try to pick apart those of others? Are you hiding something Jfg? Concerned that now you are going to get stuck in the open? Share. You have 6 inquiring minds that would like to know what and how your think.
2 - I don't believe anything anyone says in this game, so I am glad I was able to educate you on how the game is played. Also, everything is fair play. Everything you post on this board and elsewhere that I know about you. People hide behind everything. And my attacks are not personal. Just observations of what I see. Personal attacks will come later if we keep going.
And you are factually wrong. Last round I was the second vote on KDogg. My vote said I thought KDogg was more mafiaish. I merely said Monky was likely mafia. So again, a question for you that I would like answered and remember, no dodging. Why would you state a complete fabrication? Were your just in error, did you not reread the thread (or even the helpful voting record I posted for you last night) or are you trying to paint me as dun dun dun.... MAFIA. I would love to hear your thoughts on this one buddy.
3 - 1 - Inspector, 2 - Whoever is best for their narrative. An experienced player if possible with a few notable exceptions. I don't avoid the mafia, but I have derailed a game or two. But your continued protestations of "I'm New" or "I'm inexperienced" or "I'm not worth it" make me think that your are hiding something again. Talk to me Jfg. Tell me your secrets.
Fawn, can we get a slight extension? I think I am going to need to take Jfg out back and beat the truth out of him.

Well that escalated quickly.
Now that I have been schooled so roundly, let me amend:
1. I have no thoughts on the whack; I see now it was stupid to think there maybe something there to dig out.
2. I don't absolutely believe anyone either - but given evidence I can make the distinction between less and more likely to be truth or fiction. Still gotta go with a guess in the end.
And yeah, I did mis-type who you were voting for (munky v. Kdogg) and I thank you for catching it so as not to confuse other readers. I meant to say you repeatedly stated your belief that munky was mafia and based on that your round three vote seemed odd . That was my bad and I can see why it would serve to weaken the rest of the points I made. I'll have to live with it, and hope the underlying facts mean something to others as well, rather than an admitted typo.
3. Seeing that the few times I have explained that I don't understand something and it might due to me not having the requisite level of games under my belt to have experienced something in the past - well, it has you really riled up.
I muse on the number of times you have mentioned your level of experience as a reason for the way you act. Quite a few, actually.
To preserve the runoff (barring any unforeseen moves), I have to vote for either billy, surf, or Wlviking.
Aside from that one thing in the beginning of the game, I haven't seen a need to be suspicious of Surf - other than sporadic participation, but others are guilty of that as well.
Billy really hasn't given me any reason to lean his way.
That leaves you WLViking, by process of elimination. It is not in response to our back and forth question and answer session. I appreciate your responses and found them to be enlightening. If the voting stands, this vote will get wiped and you'll be fine.
