Widespread Panic, Passion Pit, Thievery Corporation, Phantogram, Portugal. The Man, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Beats Antique, Trampled by Turtles, StrFkr, Robert Delong, and Break Science
One of the better, more diverse lineups they've had. It should be enough to get me there. Unfortunately without a camera I probably will have to actually buy a ticket this year. Am I going to see you out here again Gibran

Well, this makes me wish I'd picked up the deal they had on 3 day tix a couple weeks ago. I'll be out there and will probably do a one day like last year.

Can we talk about how strange and unprofessional it is that 12 hours after their lineup release party there is still nothing on their website or social media.

It does not look like I will be making the trip this year to McDowell Mountain. Although I do love the lineup. They seemed to be unorganized when it came to certain aspects of the festival, compared to other festivals I have photographed. Maybe they are a little short staffed in the web department as well. You would think after a big announcement they would have the website ready to go.

so I have been doing some street team work for them. It seems that the whole festival is put on by a construction company out here, as a way to raise money for a local children's hospital. So a lot of the operations/planning/etc. are done by people who work for the construction company. I was talking to one of the promoter dudes in charge of street team and he was saying that the President of the construction company is an old deadhead, and so he just really likes music and festivals so decided to have one. So it doesn't surprise me that some of the stuff is a little less organized, as there isn't really a dedicated team just for this fest (and the whole thing is non-profit).
anyone else think they will be going? i've secured a 3 day for myself, and almost at another for my wife through street team, so we will be there all weekend.

I'll be out there again for a month and, depending on finances, may pick up a day pass

Yea, it has an interesting history and it is for a very good cause. I didn't mean to sound too terribly negative toward the festival. It is essentially run by a construction company, they have been doing it for along time though. I do understand it causes a few hicups here and there. I won the silent auction for a signed guitar last year, they were nice enough to ship it to my home address. One of them gave me a business card as a contact if there were any problems. Long story short, one guy (at the construction company) thought the other guy took care of shipping the guitar after the festival. Dude who was supposed to have done it goes on vacation...we got the guitar a full month after the fest. There was also some confusion in regards to the photographers and access. No big deal really, just one of the pitfalls when people are doing two jobs.
