We used to stay at a hotel outside of Memphis and drive in for MiM - what do you all do? Stay at a local hotel... or transport?
I haven't been in several years. Is the parking garages bad if you get there early?
We are from Van Buren, AR and we have been 4 of the last 5 years now, this being our 5th time. We have a 3 story house rented at 322 South Main, 2 blocks from Beale and 2 blocks from the park. Cant wait. I just hope the lineup gets better than what ive seen. I know my musical tastes probably differ from most on this board but im hoping for a few good rock bands. We saw Wolfmother last year and they put on a great show. Last year we stayed at the econolodge downtown memphis and it sucked. It was fairly close to Beale, but by the time you get to the park youre a LONG WAYS from home. Still had a great time though! I know in years past, they draw several acts from Rocklahoma, Rockville, and Rock on the Range, but their lineups this year have me scared....

If I get to go, I had considered getting a hotel... but most of those are about a mile away from Tom Lee Park. Growing up less than two miles from Memphis, I know that downtown Memphis is not the safest place in the world in the wee hours of the night. I'd heard that about the Econolodge, too. The bad thing about the inner-city hotels is that you have to pay the room fee and then pay for valet parking on top of that... which isn't really worth it, in my opinion. I think I might drive in with my group every day, if we do get to go. We might have to leave early to ensure a parking space.
Maybe they will bring in some good rock bands. I am kind of liking the bands so far... Ryan Adams, Wilco, and St. Vincent are all my favorites. I hope Modest Mouse or Interpol can sneak into the lineup.
They're finally revealing the lineup officially February 25th. In the meantime, they will be doing their "Song of the Day" contests starting on the 1st. So we'll basically know the top 25 bands through that process.
Personally, im not proud of Paramore and G Eazy... But ill be there none the less.. If the lineup sucks, ill just drink more beer! Either way, itll be fun.

I'm stoked! It looks like I'll be hitting up this one and Hangout this year! I"m beyond excited...I usually have to work hard to attend one fest a year (if that)....now I'm hitting up two in the same month! Can't wait to see who else is there.
