I'd thought about trying to work this into my summer fest schedule, but I guess that won't be happening now. Sometime I'll get back there. Last time I was there was for the inaugural Rothbury, and I thought the place was magical.
good luck with stub hub tickets. Don't pay too much.
I saw stub hub tickets were going for like $700-900+ already for GA. Which is nonsense. Someone on a hooping group I follow on Facebook was selling hers for face value and it was gone in less than a minute. So crazy.

That's just for shock value. Some people will pay. And that sucks because they won't always be that expensive. Unfortunately festivals haven't yet figured out (or don't care to) how to do away with mass buying and reselling. If it were just legitimate fest kids buying tickets then this wouldn't be sold out yet. There's always got to be a few assholes.
I think next year I'm going to EF instead. I don't think it's that much further for me than Roo is, and the lineup this year was sick. I can't believe it already sold out!
It was a genuine query. Even though you and I don't always see eye to eye on the particulars, you've always been big about more of the old school electronic music, and you usually seem disdainful of the common festy-EDM shite acts that play all over the place. I was wondering what you see in this lineup.

Normally this is true. And Skrillex....while proving that he can pull his weight in the industry....does nothing for me at a DJ. Same for Bassnektar. I respect him for what he's done for his genre and his integrity. Still...doesn't really get my dick hard. Flume....I'm kind of digging. But would be better with Chet Faker Big Gigantic is one of my favorite shows to see. It's so much fun and the instrument incorporation is what hooked me. Break Science has me too. Again....I think its the "live" aspect. String Cheese is awesome and not on a lot of line ups. Lotus...possibly my favorite band in the genre. Carl Cox....obviously Vonstroke....Ive been conditioned to adore. Green Velvet....same as above Edward Sharpe makes the heart beat a little better. Ed Rush & Optical.....nice. Real nice. Take me back to that TO scene.
I know I didn't hit all of the stuff that I personally like on this line up. But for me....it's amazing and the festy EDM acts that are on there, are ones that I like.
If anyone has or knows of 2 ga passes for a reasonable price pm me please!
Just wait until May or June. All of these resale tickets will be knocked down GREATLY and you will be able to find them for no more than $400.
Yea I think your right, just putting out some feelers. I won't pay more than $400, and don't really want to pay that much haha. Hell $279 seemed like a lot to me (around same price as rothbury)until I realized cheese isn't going to be playing any other east coast fest this summer....but I can always wait til hulaween if the price ain't right!

If it makes you feel any better, I paid roughly $310-320 per ticket after taxes and fees.
I have some friends that applied for the works program yesterday.
From what I understand you pay $400 and get $125 back if you complete 18 hours of work plus they will be paying minimum wage (MI is $8.15/HR).. So if you work your shifts you are paying $128.30 for a ticket
With that being said Forest tickets are going for much more than that right now. I see a lot of people using this to get a ticket for $400 and will never show up for work.
Alright folks time to get excited! Wristbands are being mailed and prices are dropping. Locally, they're going for pretty much face value on craigslist...just make sure to register your wristband in front of the person you are buying from. Can't wait for Carl Cox and Crew Love curated events!

think i'm doing this over roo this year. i've been to roo the last 4 years and hope to come back someday soon. have a group of friends wanting to do this and it's closer and easier access for my whole group vs going to bonnaroo. hoping we can all get tickets and it doesn't sell out as fast as last year. i plan on getting pre-sale before the lineup comes out. i want to see the forest either way
Looking at maybe being at EFF in 2016 and got a few questions. When does lineup normally drop for this fest? How many stages? How packed? How quick does it sell out? What is the weather like, day vs. night? I hear no native american headdresses this year, which sounds like a good idea to me. Do most participates dress up?
They added 2 stages last year so they're up to 7 stages now. Forest stage can get a lil crowded for the bigger names and The Ranch Arena when SCI plays but other than that its pretty easy to move around
Sold out within 24 hours of the lineup dropping last year, your best bet is to buy tickets before the lineup. Lineup is usually stacked anyways AND exploring the sherwood forest at night is worth the cost of admission alone.
Weather was fine, it does get pretty hot during the day so bring an EZ for shade. Hoodie and shorts or jeans at night should be perfect.
I wouldnt say most participants dress up. Definitely more than Bonnaroo but not as much as say Shambhala or Burning Man
Definitely bring a hammock for daytime Sherwood forest chilling but don't leave it unattended for too long as they can walk off.
If you've never been then you should most definitely check it out

What are the chances of some Umphreys this year? I always have a big crew of friends go, but it's hard to justify without some of the music I love (more jam focused). I'm sure Tribe will be there at the very least.
I'd say theres a pretty good chance we see STS9 & Umph in 2016. They took a year off last year after playing 2 nights each in 2014, they played alternating sets which was fun. Buy your tix before the lineup drops and if for some reason you dont like it then you will easily be able to resell the tix

That was kind of my plan after I recover from Christmas spending. Even if UM is there though, would they be able to announce it until after Summer Camp like last time?
