Coldplay / Muse / Pearl Jam would be epic. Smooth Friday night start, Light show and loud Saturday, and Seattle Sunday night closer on the beach would be perfect with me.
I guess at this pace the 2016 Hangout: Rescue John Stewart and John Wayne thread will reach 1,000 pages and free t-shirts for all! Ok...agree with Sarah regards feeding trolls and my bad for seeing something fun on my Facebook and sharing it with friends. I'll remember that there are waaaaay more folks on here than my Hangout buds. Just praying we all stay healthy and happy for a brave new GV world of Hangout in 2016. We are leaving the purple house for ... need a new color or totem of some sort. We have nine months to work on that one. Also think we need to work on meeting up for the Headliners or some chill place. Everybody was like all over the place this year. When we did get it together, pretty fun group to hang with. Peace - Out!
I dunno man. The "off-white" house just doesn't have much of a ring to it. We'll have to come up with something a little more catchy than that. Maybe the "gatehouse" since we're just outside the west gate. And I'm definitely up for suggestions for next year's banner. We met so many people who were just walking by and stopped to take their picture with it that I can't go without one next year. Maybe a pic of a g-string with an em chord hanging from it...
My lord Hangout has to take a page from Peach Fest. I mean I know they're different beasts but I was constantly TSA searched at Hangout. I walk in to camp at Peach with like three bags, a tent, chair, sleeping bag, huge cooler. The guy goes "sir, I have to look in your cooler". He props it open an inch and says "you're good to go". That's why I love this fest. So laid back, great mountain views and my style music. But I'll take my condo on the beach over the hike up the mountain anyday.
I'll bring my Em chords and will give that poster or totem some thought. Maybe cut a hole in a sheet of plywood so folks can get their photo with some kinda Inforoo Hangout theme. And kegs full of cold local brewed beer and good friends. Sounds good.

Chris Cornell would be a great lead into Pearl Jam. Who would be a good lead in for Coldplay and Muse?
Cornell has a new solo album coming out in September. The only song released so far is something like nearly forgot about my broken heart. It's not all that and I don't expect any Sweet Sunshower level shit. But Cornell remains my Top 1 Hangout set in 4 years.

Whoa, not even close to that high for me, but i can't believe Papa edm just made that statement.
In case you have not seen this clip...Dave Grohl inviting someone to the stage to sing Tom Sawyer in Edmonton. If you are going to have a repeat act at your festival...Foos are top of my list.
Looking at Ticketmaster for Nashville there are a lot of good bands touring. Not sure they will be available for Hangout, but...Chris Cornell, Jackson Browne, Peter Frampton, Florence and the Machine, John Hiatt, The Wood Brothers, Joe Bonamassa, Grace Potter, Jason Isbell (sold out like 4 nights in a row), Blues Traveler, Walk the Moon, George Ezra, Warren Haynes, and others. I'd like to see some of these at 2016 Hangout....Joe Bonamassa would be great on the beach. Ditto John Hiatt, Peter Frampton or Jackson Browne. I have not seen Joe, John, Peter or Jackson live.

I don't know about Top 1, but it was a pretty magical set. Sunset, VIP pool, Chris Cornell solo.... perfect.

How big is that peach?
30k over the weekend with day passes. Usually 20k all weekend passes.

John.Hiatt. My God I'd go berserk. I think Jason is a lock.

Yeah, like Sarah said that was a magical set for me. I had two super hot Dos Equis 16 oz. and was in awe. A couple of things happened during that set that made it right. I think I posted about that a year or so back, but one was one of my beers exploded up (without being shaken) during Hunger Strike (actually while he was singing "..with my cup already over filled.." and then when I got a narrow ray of sun shining down on me for about 3 minutes from between the stage and its moorings during Sweet Sunshower. Those might seem small and trivial, but they helped make it right.
I'm really not all that big on EDM unless there's something extra to it. I like some of the mainstream acts (Floss, Skrillex, Bassnectar, Adventure Club), but I prefer live instrumentation such as Beats Antique, Big Gigantic, EOTO, Gramatik or GRiZ. I don't know if I could do a Top 10 of my 4 Hangouts and not miss something or at least be out of order from prior reviews, but if I look back at the lineups, some of the most memorable shows for me would be:
2012 - Chris Cornell, String Cheese Incident, Dispatch, Steve Winwood, Flaming Lips doing Dark Side of the Moon, Gary Clark, Jr. 2013 - Public Enemy, Trey Band, Slightly Stoopid, Black Crowes, Stevie Wonder, Jim James Band 2014 - STS9, Outkast, Queens of the Stone Age, Pretty Lights, Wiz Khalifa, Flaming Lips, Reignwolf, Moon Taxi as People of the Sun, Bloody Beetroots, Portugal the Man 2015 - Beck, My Morning Jacket, Umphrey's, TV on the Radio, Jack U, Preservation Hall and Friends, Break Science, Adventure Club, Keys n Krates, Foo Fighters and Dirty Heads, Gramatik
I'm way more of a rocker than anything, but I try not to be close-minded. So I'll see rap, edm, reggae or psychedelic to go with the rock and jam. I just try to avoid the overly pop stuff or some of the weaker indie. To each their own.
haha \m/ There isn't ever enough metal or hardcore to keep me happy, but I managed to blast some Body Count and Suicidal Tendencies yesterday waiting for the Saints game to come on. You and Kelly went 2011 when Motorhead played. I wish they'd throw in a random metal band or two every year (better than Andrew W.K. of course). I always can use more loud and fast. Paladia Stage could be dedicated to harder shit IMHO. That's one of the reasons I thought Deluna was so great in 2012. You had Fishbone, Off!, Bob Mould playing Sugar, Band of Skulls, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Superchunk and Bad Brains.
No, we only did Voodoo Fest in 2011 because we were paying for honeymoon/wedding. Ended up missing the craziest year (besides when it was new and wookish and awesome in 2010). I think they only got Motorhead that year because they were touring w/Foo Fighters or something. Seems pretty out of line with what they'd ever book these days. :bigbow:Deluna
That's right. I forgot you told me y'all missed the second year. But regardless of why they did it, it is cool to see them on the lineup. I guess Huka was a bit more adventurous whereas maybe AEG/Goldenvoice and the current promoters are a little safer. There might not be giant crowds at the rock or metal shows, but those types of acts would get some support in my opinion.
Whiskey Myers seems to be the first Hangout possible act at this point. Kind of a cross between Blackberry Smoke and J Roddy. Very low undercard. Could see them at Hangout. Quite impressive for a very lower card (noon on Friday at a smaller regional fest) act.
im not good with the middle of the card, i tend to put acts that would be o the lower half. im trying to make each mock completely different from the last so i saved em all so far so i can look back at laugh.
