They played Coachella in 2013 - they played Bonnaroo in 2013. They have a new album out (whether people like it or not). They're playing Northside in Denmark this year, which is the same weekend as Bonnaroo...but they also did that in 2013. They played Thursday night at Roo and Saturday in Denmark. I could see them playing Friday at Bonnaroo and Sunday in Denmark. If they did, I would imagine they would play Which before the headliner comes on.
Their set in 2013 was amazing.
Edit - Also, a guy on Reddit that claims to know things said Alt-J was playing. I think.
I really hope they play even though I'll be seeing them at Coachella as well. I never really "got" alt-J until I saw them last month in Jacksonville and now I'm obsessed.
Also, Breezeblocks is my favorite song of theirs so thanks for the video!
The more I think about it, the more it makes sense that they're playing.
If they had Europe dates leading into Northside then it just wouldn't be logistical, but they don't. I also think they will be closing Which on Friday before Kendrick comes on...getting 1.5 hour set. Remember that guy that came here before Christmas and said that Kendrick would headline Friday, Mumford and Sons would headline Saturday, and Billy Joel would headline Sunday? Night time is a must. When I saw them in Jax it was foggy that evening and they opened with Fitzpleasure as fog (real, not a machine BTW) started rolling around the stage. Magical.

Out of the acts we know, I hope they don't conflict with My Morning Jacket or Weezer (assuming they're playing...it will be a tough one to swallow if they don't).

Ideal would be which LN, but they are headlining Madison square garden, so they'll be on What. They have a huge following, so I'm thinking same slot as VW last year. Weezer should get the same slot as Arctic Monkeys, just not a tent please. I don't wanna deal with that massive clusterfuck.

While it was neat to see Umphrey's on the big stage last year considering their history with the festival……it was an underwhelming show.

They're easily one of the most popular bands, just have to wait for the schedule.

I think if Roo was planning on having alt-J on What the insider account would have leaked them. Closing the Which one day seems like the best spot to expect them.
I'd really like to give them another shot live. I love An Awesome Wave and I sat outside the tent for their performance in 2013. It felt like everything was slowed down and I didn't care for it as much as I thought I would. However, sitting outside the tent is not the same experience as being inside of it. Also, it was my first Bonnaroo and I had just seen Twenty One Pilots and Walk the Moon. Both were really high energy and I was real hyped because I had never had an experience like this before. That may have worked against them. I would definitely like to check them out again and will pending conflicts!
