I only live 2 hrs +/- from, but have never been. Lineup is much more of a draw for me this year....Gogol and Gaslight on a two day fest for $40, sign me up. Anyone been and have thoughts to share??
Went last year. Is a small fest downtown tampa. It's cute, has everything you'd want in a fest: music, beer, food, and art vendors. Pretty small park, but they use the space very well. Maybe consider doing vip? It's the only way you can get right up to the front for Mainstage.

I went last year and I thought it was great. Curtis Hixon Park is a nice venue and the weather in March is amazing. The crowds were pretty small and it was relaxing hanging out there during the fest. Pretty weird since thats the last thing you think about during music festival. I went last year to see my first Flaming Lips show and also Delta Spirit was really great. They always have a wide variety of genres and for the ticket price it is almost a no brainer. They make the festival very family friendly so expect a bunch of little ones to be running around. It is a really clean well run festival. People complain of last year because FLips got shut down from playing their encore. Tampa has a pretty strict noise ordinance for downtown so once 11PM (I think?) hit , they were told to unplug. Festival organizers just followed the rules so you cant really blame them or the band. My only complaint could be lack of shade.
Thanks for the Hiss Golden Messanger recommendation. Just listened now and wow pretty impressed. I checked out the top of the lineup to Dumstaphunk and didnt make it there yet. Not much jumps out on the lineup for me personally. I keep on thinking I see Thee Silver Mt. Zion Orchestra on the bottom of the lineup but its really just Mt. Zion Gospel Choir. I probably will wait till last minute to decide if Im going to go or not.

Not true. I jumped over the pit railing for the Flaming Lips show undetected and very easily
