this is ages better than 2013, 2014 headliners were better than this, but 2016 undercard is sick along with some really good Headliners
You mean 2016 has a sick undercard with 1 really good headliner.
GNR is an awesome booking, LCD will be incredible, I don't like Calvin Harris at all but his set will probably be incredible for the people that attend coachella and love that type of shitty edm, which is probably around 85 percent of the crowd. But my point is that its better than 2013s shitty headliners

Phoenix and Blur are shitty? I mean, I get that Coachella prematurely jumped the gun on Phoenix when every other big festival kept them as a sub, but they probably put on a better live show than most consensus headliner options. And Blur is an extremely rare get for any North American festival. Plus, the 2013 undercard was insanely stacked.
Nah 2013 is still much better than this year. That undercard was insane
At this exact moment I'd say 2013>2016>2012>2015>2014.
No way, dude. 2014 deserves more credit than that.
Sunday is making it difficult to justify Coachella this year. I'm counting four acts (Young Fathers, Kamasi, Melodys Echo Chamber, Beach House) I would be legit excited to see; two of which I've already seen.
Also, how are you guys not freakimg out over Friday conflicts? When they released the schedule last year, I was so happy I passed based on Tame Impala vs. Terje alone.
Friday: LCD, Underworld, Sufjan, M83, Rae Sremmurd, 2manydjs, St. Germain, Savages, Joey Bada$$, Snakehips, Bob Moses, Maro Carola, Black Coffee, Nicole Moudaber, HEALTH, Sasha, Goldroom, Nic Fanciulli, Skepta, Lemaitre, George FitzGerald, DJ EZ, Nina Las Vegas
Saturday: Ice Cube, Disclosure, A$AP Rocky, Grimes, Courtney Barnett, Run the Jewels, Deerhunter, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Bat for Lashes, Vince Staples, Nina Kraviz, AlunaGeorge, Mano Le Tough, Shamir, DJ Koze, BADBADNOTGOOD, Ex Hex, SOPHIE, Alvvays, Dubfire, Matthew Dear, The Black Madonna
Sunday: Sia, Beach House, Edward Sharpe, Death Grips, Maceo Plex, Adam Beyer and Ida Engberg, Hudson Mohawke, Kamasi Washington, Claptone, TOKiMONSTA, John Digweed, Thomas Jack, Cassy, Nosaj Thing, Deafheaven, Tensnake, Young Fathers, Soul Clap
Not bad all around, but surprised D'Angelo didn't pop up on this.

I think Sunday is just aces beyond the second and third lines. Sia, Beach House, Rancid, Maceo Plex, HudMo, Kamasi, Claptone, Anderson. Paak, Nosaj Thing, Deafheaven, Tensnake, Young Fathers, the Heavy, Meg Myers, Cassy.
It's the weakest day, but it's still solid. I'm betting something from Friday or Saturday gets moved in too.
Definitely the best lineup since 2012. Gives me hope for festival season as a whole.
Nah, 2013 was the shit (second line for each day was crazy stacked) and 2014 was super solid too. This is better than last year though.
Really the only thing that makes me go "ewww" on any day's top 3 lines in 2016 is Calvin Harris, Jack U, Major Lazer and the 1975. Other than that the tops and bottoms are equal or better than any year since 2012
Also, I love the idea that you were happy that you passed on going because of conflicts. "Damn it, this lineup just had too many good bands! No thank you."
I enjoy seeing full festival sets. Granted, if something sucks, I'll move on. Having to choose between New Order and Sigur Ros in 2013 was fucking tough.
I can see Coachella fucking everyone over with LCD vs. M83 vs. Underworld this year.

Zero chance that happens. I doubt the main goes Jack U> Sufjan > Ellie > LCD. I'd bet money on Sufjan getting the Outdoor "in between" acts on the main, kind of like the Knife or the Replacements in 2014. And I'd bet anything that Jack U closes the Sahara that day. I honestly think you see either Underworld > M83 > Ellie > LCD on the main, or Underworld on the Outdoor opposite Ellie.
OK maybe all three conflicting is a stretch. But I'm pretty sure you'll see Underworld closing the Mojave Friday night. There's no way they'll playing during the day. I do agree on Sujan being over at the Outdoor before LCD.
Listened to Christine and the queens and ibeyi for the first time. Really into both. I think there are going to be lots of new discoveries on the lineup for me
What are the chances that this makes it more likely for roo to get sufjan. He's been pretty known to be a non-festival act. He played Eux Claire's last year but I chalked that up to him being buds with the desners. Hoping maybe he's starting to come around.

Honest question: when is the last time an act on the second line played the Mojave?
Good point. I was going to point to Pet Shop Boys in 2014, but they're the first band on the third line.
Honestly, I'll be bummed if it's M83 > Underworld > LCD and I'm not there.
Warning: Edward Sharpe is pretty awful these days.
That's too bad. It's been a few years since I last saw him.
I saw them at Shaky knees in 2014 (post jade) and thought they were amazing. It was my 5th time seeing them and honestly thought that it was one of the tightest sounding sets I've heard them play. The band felt very in tune with each other. But I get it was over a year ago now, was 2015 not good?
