When is their 2nd set? I can't find it. I have way too many conflicts on Friday afternoon, but really want to see them.
It's in the this thing called the Backyard, and it doesn't seem like they've announced the schedule for it yet. Just a few of the acts playing. I'm kinda hoping it will be early in the day on either Saturday or Sunday because my Friday is already packed.
Awesome thanks! I guess i need to install Twitter on my phone ugh

Although, now that I think about it. If it was somehow LN Saturday in the hour between All Them Witches and Slayer, I'd be so ecstatic.
Don't. Even. Play.
If somehow the schedule went All Them Witches -> King Gizz -> Slayer, I'm not sure I could contain myself.
What do their setlists look like? I'm curious if the long tracks on the new album will dominate the show.
Here is the one they played at Gizzfest a few days ago. I'm guessing the new songs could be ones off the new album or just older ones that the person making the setlist didn't recognize. I'd be super happy with this.
I'm In Your Mind I'm Not In Your Mind Cellophane I'm In Your Mind Fuzz Hot Wax New Song??? Hot Water New Song??? Muckraker The River Am I In Heaven? / Pill
I'll I really want is that I'm In Your Mind Fuzz medley to start off the show, and Head On/Pill to close it, also maybe with Am I In Heaven? and Her and I (Slow Jam 2) somewhere in between.

That would be a sweet setlist. Exactly, as long as the play the front half of I'm In Your Mind Fuzz I'll be happy. Throw in The River and Head On/Pill, and I'll be over the moon.

Oh I know, an intimate King Gizz performance after dark in between those two shows might be literally too much for me to handle. I highly doubt it happens, mainly cuz it would just be too goo to be true, but it seems like most of the tiny stages really only play shows during the day.
Do you think this will be something that will be on the schedule or will we have to keep up with the Roo twitter during the festival? I'm hoping they'll announce something before the fest.

I bet they're announced before the fest. Really doubt we'd have to follow their twitter.
I remember this Ford thing vaguely last year, but never went to it. But I want to say it was mainly active in the day, like the other small stages as you pointed out. Hopefully someone that checked it out last year can give a little insight.

Jon Cleary's playing a late night so it's not impossible King Gizz could get one.

They definitely played a few songs that weren't on the setlist when I saw them in December. It's possible they were deep cuts for the festival, but I'm pretty sure it was new stuff.
I seriously can't say enough awesome things about Gizzfest. The psych rock scene here is ready to explode, and this is a fantastic showcase of some of the best out there. I'm going to try to make the two-day event in Melbs next year.

And there go my hopes and dreams skyrocketing through the roof LOL.

Super excited about King Gizz in the Ford Theater. Thats where I saw Black Angels in 2011. Perfect time too, right after seeing them in the sun, getting to cool down in the theater and then coming out to the setting sun. Damn this is gonna be a good Roo!

This
This setlist excites me greatly. Then a whole different set an hour later in the a/c.. awesome..
Been giving these guys a real listen the last few hours and I'm hooked. Just jumped up to a highly anticipated set.
Suggestions on where to start for someone unfamiliar with them?
I was unfamiliar with them besides hearing a few songs when the schedule came out and seeing others who have good tastes talk them up. I just started with their oldest album and started working my way towards newer stuff. 12 Bar Bruise was the first full release I listened to.

I've listened to the most recent album - def intrigued me enough to check them out live, pretty excited for it.
Yesterday, I discovered All them Witches - wow those guys are insane, I am so pumped for that set now. Should be able to keep the energy high after MMJ and before the Superjam (I like Mumford, but really only their first album.)

So this show was fucking bonkers! Favorite set of the weekend. Don't think I've ever seen a crowd mosh that hard so early in the day at bonnaroo, or anywhere else for that matter.

I know, right? At first, the crowd was calm and I was thinking to myself at that time this show should have been on Thursday night, because it would have been balls-to-the-wall the most wild show/crowd combo. But then they brought the Thursday night out of The Other Tent later in the set despite it being mid-afternoon and muggy as fuck all.
