So this show was fucking bonkers! Favorite set of the weekend. Don't think I've ever seen a crowd mosh that hard so early in the day at bonnaroo, or anywhere else for that matter.
I know, right? At first, the crowd was calm and I was thinking to myself at that time this show should have been on Thursday night, because it would have been balls-to-the-wall the most wild show/crowd combo. But then they brought the Thursday night out of The Other Tent later in the set despite it being mid-afternoon and muggy as fuck all.
Yeah it was such a strange mosh because it started so slow, and then gradually became more and more chaotic. I think it is just hard to get a crowd to go 'balls to the walls' crazy for a humid, mid afternoon, 90 degrees set, but by about Cellophane the crowd went nuts for basically the rest of the show. Just a testament to how good they are.

Great set. Theae guys and Mac demarcos band were very interesting and entertaining to watch....on top of being great musicians. Both had me smiling and laughing at different points.
The Ford Backyard set has dreadfully unpopulated, but the guys still killed it.
There were less then 20 of us at the stage for this show, talk about extremely intimate!
They basically came to the audience before the show and asked what songs we'd like to hear that they didn't play before. Someone requested Vegimite and Head On/Pill. They never ended up playing Head On/Pill, bu they kept taking requests from the audience. I got them to play God's Calling Me Back Home.
They stage was less then 1' high, so I was eye level with them, and less then 2' from the guitar. Was almost weird being so close.
This will be as crazy a show as Bonnaroo has ever hosted; I've never seen a crowd go as apeshit as Oxford Arts Factory did during Cellophane. Make sure to wear a cup and/or a diaper.
I really hope they can bring their full light show to a tent.
What's funny about this is that I actually did end up wearing an adult diaper to this show.

If anybody wants to see The River in full live I caught them in Atlanta last weekend and filmed this. The show was awesome of course. Got to meet all the guys too.
