yea i know i'm going to be there for kendrick, but i'm willing to watch that last 30- an hour to get in the pit for mau5
I've never even seen the pit line. Anyone care to share their experience or how much before his set I'd need to show up in order to make it in?
I believe this will probably be the hardest What pit to get into all festival. The hype for this set is already growing and from my experience getting into the pit it depends on the act and they type of crowd they attract. I've been in the pit for acts like My Morning Jacket, Temper Trap, Damon Albarn, and Bjork...those lines were very well organized and peaceful.
I've also been in the pit for Kanye, Eminem, Arcade Fire, and Red Hot Chili Peppers...those lines got a little scary, people started jumping the barriers and cutting in line and the pushing got out of control. Once you're in the pit you're fine as there is plenty of room to move around. Getting in last year for Kanye was like a mini stampede, security pretty much lost control, someone could've easily been hurt.
I plan on getting the pit for Deadmau5 this year, I'll probably get in line right before Kendrick and wait it out.

Perfect! That was my plan...get to the What for Kendrick's set and go directly to the line. You think that'll work then?

Also, how do I find the line? I literally have no idea. Sad, being a five time roo vet and all. Haha

i'm not useful on this topic, but i know for a fact there is a thread about pits around here, maybe itrainmonkeys will be helpful and point you in the right direction (and in no way did i mean he ever wasn't helpful)

The pit line starts to the very left of the What stage. There is a beer stand and a group of bathrooms to the very left, you'll see the lines right around there. There are usually multiple lines for different acts so just ask which one people are in line for. You should def be fine getting there right before Kendrick goes on. The pit holds probabl5 1,500 or 2,000 people so even if the line looks long you probably have good odds to get in.

Yea. There's also a right side of the pit. Give accurate information. Geez

Just be careful of the bees. I hear they're most active right before a MMJ show.
I've seen the bees swarming over the pit. Scary stuff!!!
I've never even been to Bonnaroo and I've heard about the legendary MMJ pit bees.. You'd have to be a real dummy to be caught anywhere near that place...
1/30: Cold War Kids
2/6: Cherub
4/22: The Mountain Goats
5/25: Laura Jane Grace "Killing Me Loudly"
5/31: The Decemberists
6/11-6/14: BONNAROO 2015
6/28: Against Me!
6/30: Against Me!

I only want in for one goddamn show...it's been five years coming!
For all the innovation attributed to moderns DJs using controllers and mixing boards in their sets to customize presequences laptop sets, nothing comes close to strait working 3 decks like the wizard, save for the absolutely insanity of shadow.
Don't be getting my hopes up with that DJ Shadow talk. I completely agree with you on the talent it takes to master the art of turntablism. I saw Shadow last year on a joint tour with Cut Chemist (Jurassic 5's DJ), and they had 6 decks and Afrika Bambaataa's record collection. I think they said it was something like 40,000 vinyls. They basically did what Shadow does in this boiler room set for close to 3 hours. It was one of the most impressive things I've ever seen.
A Shadowsphere set at Roo would be next level. I have to see one of those shows before I die.
If you bring a buzz light year balloon apparently you can just bud right in
I've always wondered if buzz lightyear balloon man is on inforoo...
He came around here for a bit, or a guy at least claimed to be him. If I rememver correctly, he's just a huge jam band fanatic and he's a prick. Again, I can't really remember much about his time on inforoo

I stood next to him in the Radiohead pit for the whole show, and he seemed pretty cool. He was into the show just as much as I was, and I'm of the opinion that anyone that likes Radiohead that much is alright in my book. I know that's not really true, but I'm biased since Radiohead is my all time favorite.
But you can't argue with the fact that he cuts/shoves into the pit line over and over again. I've seen him do it multiple times LOL.

I remember that! He was all braggy-braggy that it was his buzzlight year balloon.

Ah, if he tries that shit this year and I see him, I will rip his balloon and tell him to fuck off.
i don't blame on making the radio head judgement, they aren't my favorite but I love them and pretty much everyone that I know that likes radio head is fine by me.

Somebody told me since I was at a Steve Gunn show I must be good people the other night. Didn't really know that was a thing. Also seemed weird because I had to move like three times because people were talking.

In all seriousness, I think Deadmau5 really could be placed where he is due to Prince and the possibility of him calling roo. I'm not even saying AC has talked to him, I'm saying they are still hoping to! The best way to still grab him would be to have space for him. Kendrick could play from 8-9:30 or even 7-9 with Deadmaus being scheduled for 11-1 always being able to pushed back to 1-3 for Prince to play from 10-12:30. I'm not saying it's gonna happen, but it is logical. Also, I know Deadmau5 was getting main stage, I just think the broad "Late Night" wording leaves it wide open.

It probably won't happen, but goddamn if it did. People would be going nuts! They wouldn't have a problem with ticket sales after that, for sure.

Hell lets push deadmau5 back to a 3am start time and have Rage Against The Machine play after Prince. Or a 5am start time and we'll have Roger Waters and David Gilmour perform the Wall together with David Bowie on saxophone.
