General comment regarding Flume on Which: I know people are putting Flume LN Which because he's billed so high on the lineup, but it still feels weird to me. Previous LN Which EDM acts are strictly "big 4" type american EDM acts: bassnectar, skrillex, and pretty lights (the other I consider big four is deadmau5, who IIRC played a tent last time but now he's on the What). Zedd almost had a Which LN but got switched to pre-HL Which. But I think its an easy argument to say Zedd is bigger than Flume.
Not hating, the little bit of Flume I've heard I think is pretty good, but he's just not monster popular like other LN Which EDM artists.
But, having said that, things are generally different this year, what with a co-headlining hip-hop/EDM What stage headliner billing, so maybe Bonnaroo is taking more chances. I can understand Flume being paired with a popular hip-hop act like Glover for a Which LN, the kids would certainly dig it, but it still seems odd.
Exactly, I would not think Flume had a shot at LN Which until this year. If they're willing to put Kendrick in 4th spot on the lineup and give deamau5 the headlining What stage, Flume on the LN which isn't much of a stretch. The Gambino/Flume combo would eat up a ton of the younger crowd. I think a Flume will either get LN Which and be the only electronic act at that time OR he will be in a tent with either STS9 or Flying Lotus and a hip hop act conflicting to pull away a good chunk of the crowd. Or Pre-HL Which before Mumford ovule be a great spot for Flume I think

Whatever keeps the kids over there at this point in my bonnalife is fine by me. Especially if we can herd them to the corner of centeroo at the Which the Tents with some space for people to dance.
Flumes slot does puzzle me and I wanted him on the lineup, by my gut says he gets the Zedd spot.
I'll be honest, I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to that whole genre of music. Looking at last year's Saturday, I have no idea if Flume fits more in the Zedd spot or the Kaskade spot (or even some other spot). But I'd agree that he seems billed high enough to be unopposed to another, similar act. Also, I made a ton of changes this morning and I noticed others viewing my mock so I thought I'd let you know that I think I'm done for today unless I see any more "confirmations". I haven't posted my own personal schedule yet based on it, so why not after so many changes? docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AsKA8KeNP8KGdDM4bDV2QkUyeW9SMWZ1WFBRYTJ3b0E&usp=sharing

Here's my stab at this. Overall wouldn't be too bummed with this schedule. Only a few things I don't like.
Thursday: Temples > Courtney Barnett > Growlers > King Grizzard Not too familiar with most of the people playing this day, but if it's a lot of psych rock then I'm good with that.
Friday: Earth, Wind & Fire > Ben Harper > MSM&W > Kendrick Lamar > Part of Deadmau5 > Run the Jewels > Flying Lotus
Saturday: Tanya Tagaq > Brown Sabbath > Probably an artist addition if one looks appealing, if not Gary Clark Jr. > War on Drugs > MMJ > First half of Mumford > Slayer > Pallbearer > Between the Buried and Me Gonna hope that overlap between War on Drugs and MMJ does not come to pass.
Sunday: Pokey Lafarge > Royal Blood > Sturgill Simpson > Spoon > Florence > Maybe last bit of Caribou > Billy Joel Overall best Sunday since I've been going.

I'm gonna add my daily plan to this but I first just want to make on suggestion, Switching Ben Folds with Ben Harper so that Harper plays before Kendrick and Folds plays before Hozier is more likely to happen. I would prefer that Folds played before Kendrick so I could just sit in the What field all day to get the front of the pit for Kendrick but the way they're all billed, Harper is definitely the more likely of the two to be on the What before Kendrick. Again, I'm just throwing this out there for you to use it if you agree or you can ignore it. But I'm gonna write what I'd do with your schedule with how you have it now...
Thursday: Temples -> Courtney Barnett -> The Growlers -> King Gizz -> Glass Animals -> Dopapod This would be an awesome thursday for me, personally. Growlers > King Gizz is about the best b2b shows I can hope for on at hurray this year unless Gibbs/Madlib or Mac Demarco play on Thursday which just might happen.
Friday: (Camp all day for Kendrick) Guster -> Earth, Wind, and Fire -> Ben Folds -> Kendrick (pit) -> the rest of Alabama Shakes -> Drink/meet up with peeps -> Tears for Fears -> Atomic Bomb! The fact that I can't get rail for Atomic breaks my heart, but I won't miss Tears for Fears , I REALLY love this day's schedule
Saturday: (Maybeeee) Brown Sabbath -> Gary Clark Jr. -> Jamie XX -> MMJ -> the rest of Belle & Sebastian -> Superjam ! or Slayer -> STS9 Super jam vs. Slayer would be my only potentially terrible conflict. But, my one other bummer would be choosing whether or not to camp out to get pit for MMJ or to go see Jamie XX
Sunday: Strand of Oaks -> Bela Fleck -> Shabazz Palaces -> Sylvan Esso -> Gibbs/Madlib -> the rest of Robert Plant -> Billy Joel Florence vs. Plant vs. Caribou vs. Gibbs/Madlib is my worst nightmare for Sunda. I had been completely cool about what I expect to happen on Sunday until I saw your schedule, haha. Inuit need a slight change of it. Like, if Gibbs/Madlib were another day, I'd be able to see all of Florence and most of Robert Plant with ease (or the other way around)

Woah woah woah. Flume is not getting a LN which, and I don't know when people started predicting this. I mean Disclosure was in Other last year, and Zedd was originally LN which and got moved to that 9:15-10:30 slot, which was on which. So I could see flume in a tent LN or in the same slot as Zedd or Cut Copy last year. I'll bet someone a handle of vodka or whiskey, that Flume doesn't get LN which.

Flume is 11th on the lineup. A Ln which is completely plausible imo
Yeah, I think the people who are arguing that Flume wouldn't be on the which are forgetting how incredibly weak this year's line-up is.
I'm hearing a lot of speculation that Plant will play the which between Florence/MMJ and Billy, but that's just absurd to me. They have a history of stacking the what stage on Sunday, so I wouldn't be surprised if we see all three in a row.

Oh fuck who cares haha. I'm surrendering to this one, because placement clearly means something. He will get a top billing. He's great live, but which LN deserves something a little more special IMO.

Yeah, I'm not buying that either. Plant's played Bonnaroo twice before, both in years where he was lower on the lineup than he is this year, and he played What both times. Not saying Which won't happen because I wouldn't have predicted Buffalo Springfield on Which, but I'll believe it when I see it.

I personally like Flume more than Bassnectar, but the latter is billed higher than the former and is almost certainly going to be LN Which. And I doubt they'll do Friday night Bassnectar LN Which and then give that spot on Saturday to Flume (or vise versa). Anything could happen though, of course.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Order on the poster or not, if Ben Harper warms up for Hozier Ill do a rum shooter off Tanya Tagaq's tits. Ben's not getting much respect around here...we'll see.

2 things......
I think Flume will get a Which Stage spot......either Zedd's spot OR open LN spot before Gambino.
I think a couple LNs will overlap w/ Deadmau5( obviously, not Bassnectar) b/c there will be a LOT of peeps not into Deadmau5 ( doesn't like EDM, etc.) and they will want to give them options.....plus, I don't think the LN tents will start at 1am......more like Mid or 1230am, thus cutting into Deadmau5....
2021 08-07: Japanese Breakfast @ Union Transfer 09-08: My Morning Jacket / Brittany Howard @ The Mann 09-18: Soccer Mommy @ Union Transfer 10-01 thru 10-03: Austin City Limits Music Festival 10-19: Waxahatchee @ Union Transfer 10-27: Arlo Parks @ The Foundry 11-09: Squid @ Johnny Brenda's 11-17: Monophonics @ World Cafe Live 12-01: Caribou @ Union Transfer
With the MMJ news, I moved them from LN Which to What before Mumford (and just left a blank space on the Which stage after Deadmau5). Then all hell broke loose on my mock schedule. I moved Childish Gambino to the Kendrick Lamar 2013 Sunday slot. I moved Slayer to LN along with two others for a LN Metal tent like last year. I more or less swapped MSMW with Tears for Fears and shuffled around some other LN acts.
This thing is a work in progress. As always, thoughts/comments are welcome...
Thursday: A little weak but would definitely catch some Temples, mabye some Ice Age, and MO Friday: Some of Sza, the first half of Twenty One Pilots, all of Earth Wind and Fire, Bleachers, Kendrick, Alabama Shakes, Deadmau5, Run the Jewels, Flying Lotus Saturday: Unlocking the Truth, Gary Clark Jr., The War on Drugs, the rest of My Morning Jacket, Belle & Sebastian, some of Mumford (unfortunately), half of Gambino, half of Superjam and then go to bed early (mabye BTBAM) Sunday: mabye Royal Blood, Sturgill Simpson, Spoon, Freddie Gibbs and Madlib, and Billy Joel

Sun: Shakey Graves > Royal Blood > Sturgill Simpson OR Bela Fleck on Sonic Stage OR What Stage Artist Addition (Modest Mouse or St Vincent maybe?...I know, hopeful) ...maybe camp for a bit...>Robert Plant > Billy Joel
This would be a great schedule for me personally. My only criticism is G-Eazy on the main stage.....that would be really sad. Anyways
Thurs: Dej Loaf > The Growlers > King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard > Dopapod
Fri: SZA > Earth Wind & Fire > Kendrick Lamar (pit) > maybe some DeadMau5> Tears For Fears (no RTJ :c) > Flying Lotus Friday would by far be the best day for me.
Sat: DMA's > Brown Sabbath > Against Me! > discover why everyone loves MMJ for a little bit > Belle and Sebastian > maybe some Mumford if I'm feeling it? > either Childish Gambino or Slayer....two very different acts would depend on how I feel > then wander to the metal tent (if I'm not already there for Slayer)
Sun: well....hopefully there are some cool artist additions...cuz if not BILLY JOEL PIT

Based on what I've read and heard, I agree. Is he popular enough to get an early What stage on Sunday? Macklemore was in that spot in 2013, so I thought it might fit based on how high G-Eazy is in the lineup. I'm thinking he's nowhere close to Macklemore's popularity in 2013 though. Maybe Twenty One Pilots fits early Sunday What stage? Not trying to compare all of these acts based on musical talent (or lack thereof), just who might fit into that slot..
So did Frank Ocean and he was billed 10th. I think he may be one of the highest billed ever to play a tent
I totally forgot about this. He kept getting put on the Which LN in mocks, and there was a lot of discussion about whether he could play Which or not, similar to Flume discussion this year.
Anyway if I had to bet I'd still put Flume in a tent.
Flume is billed right between Bassnectar/Skrillex/Kaskade and Big Gigantic at Electric Forest. Seems like a likely which co-LN act in a down year for Bonnaroo.
For the folks who feel Flume is a tent act, who are your best guesses for LN Which acts given what we know? Bassnectar and Gambino? Anything else?
I'm debating a single day shuttle pass if the acts I really want to see end up on one day. This is a perfect example of why I need to wait for the actual schedule, though. I would probably pay $200 to be driven down and back for Bahamas, Unlocking the Truth, Trampled by Turtles, Brown Sabbath, MMJ, Atmosphere, Belle and Sebastian, and Slayer, but a schedule like that would chop that list down considerably and leave me with 3.5 hour gap.
I should probably stop keeping a close eye on the daily confirmations and just put this aside until the schedule comes out.

My current best guess would be no LN Which Friday, due to deadmau5 running fairly late on the What stage, and bassnectar LN Which Saturday. I know Bassnectar is listed on pollstar Friday, I'm guessing that is incorrect.
I could definitely be wrong, and I hope I am, a LN Which always helps thin the crowds out at the LN tent shows.
Though if Bassnectar on Friday is correct, I suppose deadmau5 till 1am on What Friday leading to Bassnectar Friday LN Which isn't totally out of the question. Then I'd put Glover on LN Which Saturday.
I think it's interesting that the above schedule is willing to put the 6th biggest act on the Which stage (yeah, I remember Buffalo Springfield) while at the same time allowing for an artist addition big enough to be the pre-pre-headliner on the What stage. Seems like you could easily put Plant before Flo, have Spoon headline the Which, and allow for a much more realistic which pre-headliner addition.

So lets talk Bassnectar real quick: Is there ANY other position he could feasibly have besides LN Which? I'm having a hard time imagining him anywhere else. Too big for a tent, and no place on the What he could really fit.

Are we all getting hung up on Insider calling Kendrick a "headliner" when in actuality, he will most likely fill the same slot as Vampire Weekend/Lionel Ritchie? Am I missing something? Once I saw Deadmau5 as the #3, I put him in the same "play until midnight-ish slot that just about every previous top 3 act has filled for the last few years.

I was shocked they put him in a tent when he was billed 14th in 2011. I just don't see him in anything other than Which after midnight.

No, he is guaranteed LN which unless bonnaroo blew everyone's minds put him on the a Which before Mumford. I know that won't happen, just throwing it out because it's the only other option for him
