There seems to be some disagreement about what Caribou album to start with. While its not my favorite Caribou album you should start with Our Love because the majority of their set will be from that album.

Against Me! - Reinventing Axl Rose for their roots.. But I'd have to go wtih Transgender Dysphoria Blues if you really want to see what their show is going to be all about. The last few times I've seen them, they've skewed heavily to their newer material.
1/30: Cold War Kids
2/6: Cherub
4/22: The Mountain Goats
5/25: Laura Jane Grace "Killing Me Loudly"
5/31: The Decemberists
6/11-6/14: BONNAROO 2015
6/28: Against Me!
6/30: Against Me!
Guster - Keep It Together (it is an older album, but it has so many great songs on it; his newest, Evermotion is also good, though!) Ben Folds - Rockin' the Suburbs Childish - Because the Internet Gregory Alan Isakov - This Empty Northern Hemisphere. Also PLEASE check out his cover of Iron & Wine's "Trapeze Swinger" - it is absolute gold.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Gotta disagree with you on Childish here.. Camp is excellent. He did play a ton of Because the Internet at Firefly last year but quite a bit of Camp as well.

I'm a big Childish fan and like most of his work, tbh. But I figured for a starter listener, Because the Internet might be better since he probably will play a good amount of that at his Roo set.

For people that don't know Kendrick's work very well they should definitely check out Section 80 first. Hopefully this show he'll play more off that album.

I have to agree with picking Transgender Dysphoria Blues.
PHOX - PHOX (It's their debut and only release, but it's a gem. Give it a listen)
Actually, in a way, it's sort of their fourth release. They had Friendship, Phox Unblushing, and Confetti beforehand. Friendship is sort of a mixtape with hip-hop album-style banter in between most songs and has the original recordings of several of the great songs on their self-titled. And I gotta love Confetti because it has the original "Slow Motion" and there is a song called "Barside" on there and son-of-a-bitch it is beautiful. You may know all this, I'm mostly pointing it out to anyone who doesn't know.
I agree with the sentiment though, I definitely recommend everyone to start where you suggested.
I second confetti, I like their "debut" album, but you nailed it with the original Slow Motion and Barside

Ben Folds: If you're looking to get into him I'd suggest starting at the beginning with Ben Folds Five self titled. If your thinking more of his coming Bonnaroo 2015 with yMusic, i feel like Song For Silverman would be the place to start.
Well then I look forward to possibly meeting you at shakeys set. Cuz that's right where I'll be! You know, if all works out with scheduling.
See you there!! I'll be the one in the giant bear coat (if the set is late enough to not be 100 degrees).
Have you listened to "Roll the Bones?" I don't believe it was on "And the War Came" but it's a great song.
Yes roll the bones, late July and city in a bottle are the songs that started it for me with him. They were just on youtube starting like 2 years or so ago. And he also had a couple EPs. Roll the bones and city in a bottle were on one but roll the bones was very slow and mellow as opposed to how he plays it live. Which I feel is way better.
