Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
There must be a lot of Yanks who think that, because I'm constantly running across postings on various websites looking for nice Canadian girls to 'put up' random US guys.
Maybe these are just the ones who have clued in to how incredibly awesome we are?
Yes Canadian gals rock! I just wish that Canada would support the jam band scene better so we wouldn't have to travel so far to take in a great festival like Bonnaroo or Langerado. Oh well the road trip is half the fun eh!! ;D
Hey man, i've done roo three times coming down from stinky old barrie, ontario.
A friend and I are coming from Newmarket, any chance we could catch a ride with you?! We'll gladly pay for gas and then some...
Hey this reply is totally a month late, but maybe, i wont know until closer to the fest, but I'm going down with at least four cars of people so there could always be extra room... Send an email to ncoady AT uwo.ca
I'm still working out some kinks in the plan, but I think my itinerary goes down like this:
Tuesday 8am: Wake up on less sleep than usual. 830am-430pm: Do all last minute errands and packing, sure to tire me out. 5pm: Nap 11pm: Wake up and get last minute shit together.
Wednesday 12am: Depart from Toronto ~3am: Cross border in Sarnia ~3pm: (Depending how much moseying we do) Arrive in Nashville, TN 4pm: Swim in Holiday Inn pool, nap 7pm: Head to a bar, check out Nashville 11:30pm: Come back to hotel room and pass out.
Thursday: ~9am: Leave for Manchester, prepare for weekend of a lifetime.
Well it's in writing now so I guess i better stick to that.
This is mine and it may be obscure but I'm going off the Michigan Thread for times from the Bridge.
Wednesday June 13 7am: leave Pembroke 10am: on the 401 at Oshawa 1pm: get to the Bridge at Sarnia 10pm: hit hotel at Murfreesboro 10pm but thats 9pm Central Standard time
Sleep and get up and leave at around 8-9am on Thursday to get to Roo
Inforoo provided me with everything I needed to know in preperation for my first roo last summer (which was AMAZING), so I hope it won't let me down this time around. I live in Toronto and am in serious need of a ride down!
Long story short, I've got some friends going down, but they are renting a ridiculously expensive RV, and aren't arriving till Friday late afternoon. I told them I would see them down there.
I've taken one too many multi-day, cross country greyhound trips through Canada and the US, and I really don't want to go through that torture again. Flights are too pricey. I've even looked into a bus to Buffalo or Detroit then a cheap domestic flight, but it adds up quickly.
So, does anybody from the Toronto area have space for one more? I'll pay for gas, munchies, your beer, whatever, I just need to get down. I'll meet you anywhere in southern Ontario, really. I'm pretty easy going and I just need a way to get down and back!

Wow and I thought 13 hours in one day was a lot. Have you thought about getting a hotel half way. I'm sure you can Priceline a super cheap hotel along the way. Just a suggestion.
I have no clue what the best way to take is, but Mapquest says take the Ambassador Bridge from Toronto, so may go that way. Mapquest hasn't fucked me too bad yet ; )
Hey Leafsfan. Mapquest is messed for sure. I hate mapquest! But then again I am cranky after night shifts and still up. Ok this is the way I see it,
Travelling across the border to Sarnia is best because of border patrol. We have nothing to worry about but they are lenient there. We are going that way because you miss alot of Toll highways, so we are taking, the 401 to the 402, then over the bridge at Sarnia, then onto umm the higway that takes you to detroit, then the I75 straight there til the I65, then onto I24. Hey everyone wants to just drive and we have ahotel in Murfreesboro. We just want to get close by then park our AZZes for the night. That kind of driving between 4 people ROCKS! Tunes, drink and food and a few good laughs while travelling. Trust me, if I wanted to take a few days to get there, I would but everyone wants to just get to Roo! Either way, its KEWL with me! Its really truly not that bad though, we leave here at 6am from the house, pick up the other couple, then drive until about 11pm which will be 10pm central time. Thats great timing if everything works out ok. Also my Husband runs a region for Car rentals so he LOVES driving. He could drive to the tip of Florida without stopping if he were allowed. Me? When I have to drive back from Toronto, I'm cranky, but that drive is NASTY boring! But yeah, I wouldn't do that drive without a comfy hotel to get to! I actually look forward to this roadtrip! Never done one this long before. Only takes me 3 hours to get to TO too.....

I guess splitting the driving won't be too bad. It's only my gf and I driving down and I'm sure I'll do 90% of the driving. I'm looking forward it to myself, and have never driven so far. It should be fun, and I'm sure after 8 hours I'll be looking forward to that hotel in Nashville. Speaking of such I should Priceline one soon...

We're only going as far as La Grange, Kentucky (cause ZZ Top told me there we're a lotta pretty woman there). Stopped there the last 2 years going to Roo. Breaks the trip up nice, get there around 4 or 5 pm.....walk around the town, very nice clean small town, hit a couple pubs, have dinner, then crash at the hotel for a good nights sleep before the real party begins in Manchester.

Hey Soul, ya we're doing Nashville in one day...about 12 hours I think. If you're coming from Penbrooke it's gonna be like 17 houts isn't it? That's a killer drive, but it's gonna so be worth it.
I'm looking for a ride from the Greater Toronto area, and I'm willing to chip in gas money and perhaps a couple extra bucks for good measure. All my friends are going from boston and i figure as opposed to getting down there to go with them i might as well just meet up with them at the festival. Specifically I'm in Oakville, but I'd be able to meet people wherever around Toronto to catch the ride.
Can anyone help a brother out?
My msn and email is: arvis_j_arvis@excite.com phone number is: 905-257-1571
Yeah we are about 3 hours away from Toronto and expect that time to arrive in Nashville. Great thing about it is the fact Nashville is Central time and we will arrive one hour earlier which means one extra hour sleep! heheee
yea no sh&* I'm nearly falling off my rocker with excitement. Right now I'm supposed to be heading to Ottawa to catch a plane and head to a conference and i'm sitting here waiting for my Bonnaroo tickets. heheheh I saw they are in Transit and know where they are but the UPS guy is normally here super early in the day so I'll wait a little more then I'll have to run. Have you received your TIX yet?
All you crazy cats coming through Sarnia that is actually where I live, and I actually work at the bridge as well!!!!! Although I won't be working that day because I'll already be on my way to the ROOO!!!!!!! My plan is to leave Sarnia at around 3:00PM, arrive at the Manchester walmart at 4:00AM, party it up for 3 hours and then get in line for the greatest weekend of my life!!!
We're taking a van from little ol' PEI down to roo this year. Really excited for the road trip, and we'll probably hit a show or two on the way down too!
We'd also welcome another roadmate for the long haul as well, so anyone on the east coast of Canada or New England would be welcome to tag along!
Ok I think we've changed our route now. Hubby talked to his boss who is quite familiar with border crossing and he said we are best off crossing at Detroit. Much much faster.
Everyone from Toronto area, and all Canadaians reading this thread. Whats your preference on borders crossings and why?
I'm trying to figure out what border to cross at right now actually. At first I was deadset on crossing at Buffalo, simply because I want to get out of Canada as soon as possible. Yet for some reason I'm drawn to crossing at Sarnia, perhaps because that's what I'm used to. But I WILL be driving all night, and the last thing I want is that dark, long, boringass stretch on 402 before Sarnia. Unless someone convinces me otherwise, I think I'll stick with Buffalo -- the difference between crossing at Sarnia, Detroit or Buffalo is no more than 20 minutes, so I'm really open to change.

From Toronto we're taking the 401 to the Ambassador Bridge (Detroit). Only reason, because it's faster.
I Pricelined a hotel a couple days ago and got one in nashville for Thursday night, by the airport.
That's gonna be a hell of a drive (compared to what I'm use to), but I'm sure once we're half way down I65 we'll be feeling good. Maybe crank a little Drive By Truckers when approaching the south : )
We originally planned to leave at like 6am Wed, but I think we're gonna aiming for 3am now...
Note for ya, maybe you've been to Roo before I definitely have not.... A gal who just rented a vehicle from my husband said from her home in Oshawa to Nashville to the hotel was 13 hours exact. a few stops for food and gas that was it.
