leaving for red rocks in a week, pretty damn excited. makes it much easier to come back from roo with another vacation to follow.
from what i'm hearing getting a cab out is pretty easy? like they just line up pretty much and hop in? any help on transportation would be great. we're staying at a hotel only about 15 from red rocks
edit: also if you have suggestions of places to go check out i'll have some time with my buddies friday and saturday to explore a little bit
I rented a car when I visited, but if you're not renting I'd recommend uber instead of cabs. It's cheaper, and usually a better experience.
Are you staying at the days inn in golden?I stayed there for bassnectar and 75% of the hotel was at the show.
Before red rocks check out dinosaur ridge, you can see dinosaur foot prints. It's right next door to the venue pretty much. It's free if you talk instead of taking the bus. Also lookout mountain park had some beautiful views.
While I was in town I had voodoo donuts. It's like a punk rock donut shop with the best Damn donuts I've ever had.
If you watch south park, it might be fun to check out casa Bonita for lulz. I didn't make it last time because my girl friend is vegetarian, and the menu isn't veg friendly (the beans have beef lard, and the rice uses chicken broth)
I didn't get to explore night life much but next time I'm looking to check out beta night club. I also hear good things about Cervantes.

thanks man! we do have a rental car and are staying at the extended stay america in lakewood. i'm guessing it'll be the same thing where most of the hotel is going to the show. only 10 min or so away from red rocks. staying DT denver fri and sat (4th of july).
going to see zeds dead and dillon francis. thanks for the info! the dino ridge sounds cool since it's right next to the venue. we'll be cabbing it to the venue so we can get there early and try to check that out.
casa bonita would be fun just to say we've been there lol. voodoo donuts, noted

If you go to Casa Bonita just order the cheapest thing you can cause that food is garbage.

we did check out dinosaur ridge. we weren't all too sure how real the footprints actually were but it was a good thing to do the morning after the show, get a little walking in. we basically walked up to the footprints part and turned back lol. 30 min was enough walking for us that morning
