So I saw no thread about this amazing artist. I got to see Pokey year before last with cursedlono & krunchykat at Bluegrass in the Park. He has such an Americana sound of yesteryear and his backup band is dynamite. Hailing from St.Louis, he is releasing a new album this year.
He is a must see for me! Just such a wonderful sound!

Saw some footage of this guy at some festival and it got me intrigued. He was doing some song about greedy doctors. Hope to be able to catch him if he isn't too early in the day Sunday.
I've met Pokey and he's a really nice guy, plus he's played my hometown a few times which is rare for any band worth booking at Bonnaroo. You won't hear this sound and style from any other act and, while traditional Americana might not be your cup o tea, the set will stand in a class its own at the end of the weekend. Recommend.
