Hey chicken4 I totally missed that. I'm fully on board with this new record. I might still be in the honeymoon phase, but I have a feeling I'm gonna be gleefully listening to this album for a very long time. Also, White Wine and Fried Chicken is surprisingly more of an important song than the title would suggest.
Agreed, the album is a gem. I've been playing it for the last month and it hasn't gotten old yet. Reminds me more of their earlier stuff, honestly.
It actually infuriates me they haven't gotten Hot Chip on the farm since 2007.
Since Hot Chip are touring pretty heavily this summer, the chances of getting them at Bonnaroo next year don't look great either. I'd say we're probably waiting until the next album, so hopefully Bonnaroo can snag them in 2018 or so.
So is Hot Chip pretty much out addition wise? Significantly less chatter about them (from what I've read) as of late. It almost seems like a compete miss not to add them though. They have nothing on the books after bonnaroo. They're doing Gov ball right before. Not to mention Alexis Taylor being involved with Atomic Bomb. (Yes, I know he wasn't on the list of confirmed Atomic Bomb guests). If they can afford to bring Childish Gambino back 3 times in a 4 year span, I think Hot Chip is due for another appearance!
They're playing a festival in Instanbul on June 13. They're out.
Slightly depressing news. I was really hoping they would be a late addition.
Really sad Bonnaroo missed another Hot Chip opportunity. But it makes me even more grateful that I got to see them at SXSW this year. Thanks Samsung, I always knew you kicked Apple's ass.
Didn't Sinkane already confirm that Alexis Taylor would be there as part of Atomic Bomb though?
Pretty sure Sinkane just confirmed that Alexis is a core member of the live Atomic Bomb group. But didn't give direct confirmation that Alexis would be performing at the Bonnaroo set. We all just took it to mean he would be, since it would be a travesty for Bonnaroo to miss Hot Chip again.
But this is just off the top of my head, so might have a few details wrong.
