General Info Members: MØ (pronounced mew), is the moniker of Karen Marie Ørsted. MØ tours with a live band, but can otherwise be considered a solo artist. Biography: MØ, age 26, is a Danish singer-songwriter, and is signed to Sony records. Her debut album, No Mythologies to Follow, was released in March of 2014. The album garnered a good deal of recognition, particularly at the Danish Music Awards where she received awards such as, "Breakthrough Artist of the year", "Record of the Year", "Solo Artist of the Year". Prior to her debute release, MØ co-wrote and provided vocals for Avicii's track, "Dear Boy". She is also featured on Iggy Azalea's song, "Beg For It"
Major Discography: No Mythologies to Follow (2014) [Spotify]
Sounds Like Genre: Pop, Electropop Similar Artists: Grimes, Banks, The Spice Girls
Suggested Listening I would highly recommend listening to the entire debut album. The Deluxe version sits at 20 tracks, but it is a quick listen, as very few songs eclipse the 4 minute mark. The majority of the album's production features electronic influence, including a track from Diplo (XXX 88). The production is also quite layered at times, with MØ essentially performing as her own backing band, frequently providing call-outs. While the album is energetic and engaging (like a good pop album should be), the lyrics also feel personal and hold some depth. Some suggested album cuts:
"Dont Wanna Dance" - In an alternate universe this was the 'song of the summer'
"Pilgrim"
"Waste of Time"
The Deluxe version of her album also contains the "Night Version" of 4 tracks. These have a much more sexy, slow, sensual feel. Highly recommend these tracks. "Dust is Gone" - Night Version"
Physical Reaction/Live Show Here is my reaction after seeing her last May
MØ last night was truly fucking amazing, one of the best shows I've seen in awhile. I thought her stage presence would be good since she's played for big crowds in Europe, but my god did she own that shit. Complete crowd control. Jumping into the crowd, going up onto the balcony to sing; everyone was eating it up. She tours with a drummer, drum/beat pad, and guitar player so the beats hit that much harder. her voice sounded impeccable, and her dance moves were outrageously awesome.
Go see this girl at a small venue while you can. Also, her cover of the Spice Girls, Say You'll Be There, was the shit
I really expect this to be an awesome set. She's been playing live for awhile now, and has played in front of much bigger crowds. Should be a really fun show.
Interesting Facts The Spice Girls are one of MØ's greatest influences. Her cover of Say You'll Be There is awesome
Personal Notes Aside from liking her music, I truly love the way she represents herself. It's rare to see people be themselves and have an "IDGAF" attitude in today's pop scene. She comes off as very genuine, and that's sexy as hell.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

She was awesome. I saw her at Coachella as well but she had major sound issues. This performance was way better (and longer), you could tell the sweat-drenched sunday crowd was totally her element. Her energy was palpable even from the back corner of the tent. Really looking forward to seeing what she does next.
