2 years ago we did the onsite RV rental and loved it. Last year, they announced in late February that they didn't have their act together and weren't doing it. So we scrambled and got an RV from Cruise America to drive up from Atlanta.
This year, the website keeps saying check back later. But thinking I was being smart, I started looking in late January to put a refundable downpayment on an RV in case Roo dropped the ball again. Even though I was checking a month earlier than last year, the closest Cruise America had is in Greensboro. I would like to think that means Roo is snatching up the RVs for the RV Oasis. However, optimism isn't my strength.
Anyone else waiting for the On-Site RV situation to clarify?
Yes, I'm flying in from Canada and was hoping to rent an RV on site. Hopefully something turns up...
If that doesn't pan out and you need a place to stay, I hear these guys may be attending and have some extra space again... inforoo.com/thread/3576/21yr-olds-30ft-looking-party ...if you're female. Caveat emptor
I've been looking for an RV since December and haven't been able to find a (decently-priced) one and I live in Nashville. I'd love to take advantage of the onsite RV rental if they have it this year.
Do you remember how much it was in addition to your ticket? Can GA get an RV onsite or just VIP?

I think they had it for both GA and VIP. I don't remember how much it was, though.

When we did onsite RV 5 years ago all you could get was GA. The service was awful and the RVs were straight out of Compton. The next year they used another company and the quality and service was reportedly much better (we didn't rent onsite that year and rented our own instead). So if they do it this year I'm sure GA would be available.

I would expect them to be available for both GA and VIP, if at all. I don't remember exactly how much they were a couple years ago when I looked, but I remember saying "WHAAAATTTTT!?!?"
Surely they are a good bit more than on-site tent rentals, which look like this: Bonnaroo On-Site Rental: Tent City in GA Camping The rental cost of a 2 person unit is $970 plus a $300 damage deposit. The rental cost of a 4 person unit is $1,065 plus a $300 damage deposit.
Gonna be pricey, but having a roof, a fridge, and air conditioning all ready to go for you sure would be nice. Expect to pay a premium over a standard drive-it-yourself RV rental, for having it setup and ready on site.
