I saw George Clinton and the Parliament Funk last night at BB Kings in NYC. They killed it, it was so sexy, dirty, funky!!
They are on tour. With a big fat opening in their schedule for Bonnaroo. I talked with the band after and they are SO down to play Roo. Let's make it happen!!

When I saw GC in 03 at a tiny club in Tempe AZ it was one of the best shows I had ever seen. Front row right on GC'S monitor. One of the 5 best shows I have ever seen.
Legends, but nowadays they'd be better served getting Lettuce, Dumpstaphunk or Karl Denson's Tiny Universe if they want to add some funk.
I'd be all about any of these bands or Parliament Funkadelic getting added and the would all kill a LN set. I'm still shocked/disappointed that Lettuce has never gotten a LN set at Roo.

They were terrible in 2010 when I saw them. George Clinton dressed like a rapper and only performed for like 40% of his set. The rest was some weird dancer doing his thing and Clinton's daughter trying to launch a rap career.

that's a major bummer. Sorry to hear that. The second time I saw him at TSU in 04 or so was a little more subdued but still awesome. I would have been dissapointment by the show you saw too, from what you say.

That is horrible! I have never seen a bad P-Funk show and have been to three. I can't believe that.

I literally saw them play a few nights ago and they killed. It was amazing. Who cares what he wore? He's in his 70's man, let him wear what he wants, lol.
Yes, at one point at the very end he brought up his grand-daughter who was actually incredibly talented. Nothing wrong with wanting to share the spotlight with a younger family member. Expose his fans to a new generation of talent. On that note, he brought up on stage what looked like a 10 year old boy, who is a mini-Jimi Hendrix.
Like I said, I saw them a few nights ago, they were amazing, he is a legend, & we got down to the funk all night. The band told me they were very down to perform at Roo.

Oh, trust me, I was there and front row. But I meant an original set, not them covering a bunch of songs. It was absolutely mind blowing to be at the hip hop superjam, but I'd love just a LN Lettuce show
