Isn't it weird how sometimes you can feel shame through the internet? I wrote that and deep down felt like I just made an idiot of myself. Should have known.

Care to explain how this one works?
You say who will ruin Bonnaroo this year. Pretty simple

idk the exact reference but somebody had made a thread like this i think last year was the first year, not positive. this seems to be a sarcastic play on that. yea it sucks when the internet makes ya feel dumb lol

I think it's been an ongoing thing since, at least, 2008 when Metallica was on the bill. Eminem was going to ruin it. Kanye, of course, was going to end the festival for good. There hasn't seemed to be a unifying figure of hatred this year. I don't know if that's good or bad.

Just a long standing tradition of people freaking the fuck out that some band/fans will ruin the "vibe" of Bonnaroo. Tool ruined Bonnaroo one year, Metallica another. Hip hop fans have ruined it several years, as have EDM rave babies. Mumford & Sons hipster fans will now ruin it twice! And of course Kanye threatens to ruin it every year, whether he's there or not.
It's a tongue in cheek thing for most, but sadly some people actually believe it.

Lol at Mumford & Sons fans being 'hipster' or something. More like screaming tween Mumford fans. Also, how did Tool fans 'ruin' Bonnaroo? I wasn't there that year. I know Pitchfork wrote a scathing review of their performance, but who really cares cause Pitchfork is a pile of shit.

You know, because the \m/ will ruin any hippie vibe. I'd actually love to read that Pitchfork review to see what was so wrong with that performance. Did a quick search and couldn't find it.
And I do remember people being scared of the hipster invasion due to M&S back in '13.

Deadmau5, dressing up like Mickey Mouse, pressing play on his iPod and doing some knob twiddlin', Kendrick Lamar playing half songs off his one album and attracting a bunch of bad-vibez-thugz to the fest, Billy Joel's old ass singing "Only the Good Die Young" before literally dying of a heart attack and ruining my buzz, people with no understanding of irony saying "you can't let one act ruin your Roo!"

Dude, I can't seem to find it either. I just distinctly remember it because Pitchfork always shits on Tool. See their review of Lateralus: pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/8104-lateralus/
That bothered me, and I'm not a big Tool fan.

Jimbo, you should add a poll. I think the leading contenders are:
Kendrick Lamar (thug-vibez) Deadmau5 (thatz not REAL music) Billy Joel (he sucks) Lack of MMJ late night (ASHLEY CAPPS FORGOT THE FESTIVAL'S ROOTZ/TURNED HIS BACK ON THE CORE AUDIENCE) Mumbros (bailed on Roo last time, don't deserve a second chance)

Ha ha, oh man. I still check out Pitchfork from time to time because they do still expose me to some new music I enjoy. But I never take their reviews seriously. I didn't realize they had such a raging hard on against Tool. I'm used to it in their Mars Volta reviews though. Seems like they're still angry At The Drive In broke up.
