Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
PLEASE NOTE: Lana Del Rey should be listed in the poll above as a 12 seed. (ie. 12-Lana Del Rey) She is matched up against Robert Plant. Brand New is the actual 13 seed who is competing with My Morning Jacket. Apologies for any confusion but unfortunately I cannot edit the poll without deleting and reposting it which would eliminate the votes which have previously been cast.
I spent a couple hours scouring line ups for festivals that are popular here on inforoo. I used headliners to fill the 1-9 seeds for each of the 4 regions and then filled in the remaining 28 spots with acts who are booked high on the lineups at multiple fests.
Region 2 credentials 1-Elton John: Headlining JazzFest 2-Billy Joel: Headlining Bonnaroo 3-Sam Smith: Headlining Forecastle, Hangout & Wayhome 4-My Morning Jacket: Headlining Governor's Ball. Also appearing at Bonnaroo, Boston Calling, Forecastle & Hangout 5-Robert Plant: Headlining Sasquatch. Also appearing at Bonnaroo 6-Snoop Dogg: Headlining Firefly & Bunbury 7-Ed Sheeran: Headlining Beale Street. Also appearing at JazzFest 8-alt J: Headlining Wayhome. Also appearing at Coachella. 9-Zac Brown Band: Headlining Hangout 10-Ryan Adams: Appearing at Coachella, Sasquatch, Governor's Ball, Beale St, Shaky Knees & Big Guava 11-James Blake: Appearing at Sasquatch & Big Guava 12-Lana Del Rey: Appearing at Sasquatch & Governor's Ball 13-Brand New: Appearing at Shaky Knees & Bunbury 14-Cage the Elephant: Appearing at Beale St & Forecastle 15-Mac Demarco: Appearing at Bonnaroo & Pitchfork 16-Old Crow Medicine Show: Appearing at Shaky Knees & Bunbury
You can vote for up to 8 choices. This means you may choose not to vote for any pairing or even that you can vote for both of two opposing artists though that of course would merely cancel out your own vote for either of them.
Congrats to the Region 1 winners and thanks everyone who voted!
Typing this up just now I realized we've got My Morning Jacket, Billy Joel & Robert Plant (3 our of the top 5 seeds here) all in the same Region. This will be a big one for Bonnaroo goers but of course there can only be one that gets to advance to the Final Four.

The 3 seeds seem to be having their hands full with their 14 seed challengers thus far! I'm happy to say I'm doing better personally in this region with my picks leading in 6 out of 8 contests after finishing Region 1 a weak 4-4.

Someone is finally getting a bit of an edge in the Snoop Dogg/James Blake matchup. Every time I looked at it yesterday there had been more votes cast but still they remained dead even.

I'm okay with this only if these people voting for Snoop have listened to James Blake as well. I hope he's not losing just because of a lack of name recognition - that man's music is beautiful.
How is Billy Joel beating Mac DeMarco? This is a travesty.
Because people like Billy Joel. I'll never understand the fascination (I like a few songs, but otherwise meh), but we seem to be in the minority. Joel's a veteran and seeded appropriately, I guess. And DeMarco needs to tune his guitar.
I'm going to say the Demarco thing is in large part a name recognition one. I've listened to his latest album a fair number of times and do enjoy it but I still respect Billy Joel more for all that he's done so he got my vote.
Well, damn. I didn't think TV were that popular...
They also got a soft matchup against Wilcoma.
Apparently you've never watched Nels Cline shred up close because you wouldn't be speaking such nonsense. He's probably one of the top 5 guitarist in the world.

Because he has more hits than Demarco has songs.
I don't think I'll ever understand why artists like Elton or Joel or even the Beatles catch so much flack because of their "pop" hits when people will defend artists like Boyonce, who has a ton of outside help with her music, which is also basically just "pop" hits.

Beyoncé gets more criticism by the general public than any of the other three you mentioned. Mike Huckabee, a one time presidential candidate, went as far as to publicly call her obnoxious and toxic mental poison.

I was referring more to the average person, not the media or political figures. Especially the folks on here, a lot of praise for Beyonce or Kanye and a lot of hate for the artists previously named. I mean, Billy Joel is not my favorite artist by any means but he's still a great musician with some great music. Of course it's all very subjective. But to say Joel getting more votes than DeMarco is a travesty is a bit silly.

I don't recall seeing people trash Joel because he is "pop". It's usually because he is old or people are not fans of his songs. I commented it was a travesty that Mac was losing to him in this poll as a joke. I'll check him out at Roo. Its likely I end up enjoying his set. If I had never been to Bonnaroo and saw him on the lineup I'd probably be looking to spend my festival buck elsewhere. Then again, even if Kendrick and/or MMJ were to end up at Lolla or ACL this year, I'd be missing out on the four day camping experience with days and nights filled with live music. I can't wait to get back to Tennessee and sing-a-long to some "You May Be Right."

Snoop was one of the most boring "I feel like I just wasted my life" festival sets that I ever saw. He just sauntered around stage talking about the shticky icky icky.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

At least he used some live instrumentation and works the crowd a bit as opposed to simply rapping along to his own records. Call and response isnt exactly gangsta but I feel he uses it pretty effectively. The custom drumset/trike set was pretty wild also. Then erykah badu came out to duet Lodi Dodi and that was pretty dope. I'm referring back to bonnaroo 2009 and you might have caught a different festival appearance but I've certainly seen worse.

James Blake's bonnaroo show was powerful in its own way but also had some technical difficulties and because I was bouncing around between shows that night I was fairly far back and many people around me clearly didn't get what he was about and lacked the focus and attention his music requires so their irritability was hard to block out completely.

I still gave my vote to James Blake though because I feel it is a bolder booking and would like a second chance to see him with better circumstances but its no disrespect to Snoop.

Exactly, I've seen him twice at Beale St Music Fest and both shows were subpar.
