Dej Loaf is an undoubtedly catchy and unique female rapper from the streets of Detroit. She started her hip hop career around 2011, and released her first mixtape Just Do It in 2012. However she really popped off last year with her single "Try Me" thanks to the help of Drake posting the lyrics to his Instagram. She signed to Columbia records shortly after releasing her mixtape Sell Sole. Which I guess the title of the mixtape makes sense, because in the song "Try Me" she says "I aint singing to no lable b*tch I'm independent". She kind of falls under this new wave of alternative, less serious sounding, "weirdo" trap rappers. But she's still got some bars.

So far she's only done club shows, so that doesn't give us a good idea of what her live show will really be like. She will be on the Pinkprint Tour with Nicki Minaj this summer. She's a pretty interesting choice for Bonnaroo. I'll definitely be there to see what her show is like.
