Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
My concert spreadsheet has 97 acts listed for 2014. I could type them all out but I'd rather waste time discussing the Wire. Also, I told my mom to stop celebrating her birthday and get me some cute baby photos ASAP.
You have a fucking concert spreadsheet?
You guys should be using concertarchives.org. I love it. Still need to find some old concerts I went to that I"m missing ticket stubs for.
I went to 96 shows last year. I never really thought about keep track until 2013, then it was too late to remember everyone so I started for 2014. I think keeping a word doc or something with a list of everyone is actually a really good idea. I may start doing that.
1/30: Cold War Kids
2/6: Cherub
4/22: The Mountain Goats
5/25: Laura Jane Grace "Killing Me Loudly"
5/31: The Decemberists
6/11-6/14: BONNAROO 2015
6/28: Against Me!
6/30: Against Me!

I guess this is a +1 for billybaroo? And probably a +1 for smellycat too, because I just realized she has dates on hers. Which means she must keep an updated list somewhere too.
yeah, I keep an ongoing list - mostly to keep track of upcoming shows so I can buy tickets/get work off, but also to keep a list for what I went to.
Men and women (and kangaroos) of Inforoo, lend me your ears. I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude for being considered for this prestigious award. Special thanks to Dave Maynar for the nomination, nodepression for being the visionary architect behind this award, and last but not least, Boner for erecting this thread and ejaculating life into a wonderful tradition that had previously grown flaccid from months of neglect. As I reflect back upon this past year, it humbles me to think that my name could even be mentioned in the discussion of this award. Only a year ago, I was but a lowly lurker, too timid to join the ranks of the elite and world-renown Inforoo community. Since enlisting in October, I have ascended to my current position of Showerless Shakedown Vendor and become a shining example of the mediocrity, I mean excellence, that that plagues this community.
As the long list of nominees suggests, competition was fierce among the Class of 2014. From smellycat's ranting about first-world problems, to Vieux’s serial “liker” status, to ゴジラ's ridiculous Godzilla avatars, to Decaanter and Suriel’s suspiciously well-mannered disposition, to trantsgiving’s amusing immaturity, each candidate brings something unique to the table and has made a lasting impression on the Inforoo community. Unfortunately, only one individual can take home this coveted award each year. Ideally, the Inforoo Rookie of the Year should exhibit certain attributes that best embody the spirit of Inforoo. Specifically, these attributes include: 1) sound judgment, 2) willingness to chastise others for stupid or ignorant comments, 3) proper use of internet gifs/memes, 4) appreciation of sarcasm, 5) occasional contribution of useful information pertaining to Bonnaroo and the general music world, 6) willingness to expand one’s musical horizons, 7) sense of community, and most importantly, 8) occasional mocking of Phi’s penis size. Clearly, these are very high standards, and not everyone can live up to these lofty expectations. During my short tenure on Inforoo, I believe that I have exhibited these qualities better than any other nominee not named billybaroo.
With your support, I hope to be this year’s recipient of the 2015 Thomas Ian Nicholas Rookie of the Year Award. If honored with this award, I promise to use any power or influence I may gain solely for the benefit of the Inforoo community and not my own self-serving interests. Unlike billybaroo, I would not impose a tyrannical oppression of one’s preference for a particular breakfast food, even if I know said person’s beliefs are misguided. You can put your complete trust in me, as you know that meteorologists can always be trusted (just ask Lewis Black). Thank you, good night, and God bless!
As a member who just joined in January 2015, I don't know how much sway I'm allotted with this 2014 Supreme Board Member aka T.I.N. award, but this guy just won me over with his succinct yet convincing speech.billybaroo threw in a lot of humor and raised good points, but this one was brief and articulate and also specifically mentioned the importance of conversing about Phi's penis size on a regular basis. So, if I'm allowed a vote here, mine goes to Swedish Chef
Thank you for your support and kind words, Rummy 500. To anyone who hasn't cast his/her ballot yet, you would be wise to follow suit.
The Wire. Only my favorite show of all time. I've watched the whole series from start to finish 4 times. I take this shit seriously.

*Obviously I am no judge. These are merely my suggested point accruals for this post.

Do you all even have jobs!? Or any responsibilities for that matter?!?
To be fair, that includes festival sets. And yes, I have a very good, full time job where I work 40+ hours a week, on average. I also take a lot of time off for shows/festivals... I'm concert poor.
I've never heard of it but I'm definitely going to look into it.
It's cool. If the concert you add is on setlist.fm it automatically connects and posts the setlist on that show page. You can upload photos of the shows, too. I like it. Just waiting for them to add the ability to export it to a spreadsheet.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
I read Swedish Chef's post right before bed last night and had wonderful inforoo dreams and decided that I too, shall post an appreciation of nomination speech.
I just want to start by thanking Dave Maynar and pondo ROCKS for the nomination. I didn't realize that this crazy community that I had fall in love with, had indeed fallen for me as well.
I started lurking somewhere in 2012, looking for voodoo insider information, and never really paid much mind to anything else. I officially joined in 2014 due to my ex, whom I had been begging for 10 years to take me to bonnaroo, bought tickets after our breakup for himself, and I had to get scoopz to rub in his face that OutKast would not be there. I rarely posted even after that. It wasn't until I bought my own tickets bonnaroo 2015 that I officially begin to post.
I had the pleasure of being mocked and ridiculed by emoney, due to a stupid bullshit Capps post, and I had to defend and standup for myself, which led to messages from members stating that I would fit right in. I was also told that I would love Druid and crazykittensmile once I figured this whole forum thing out. And they were right. I discovered the headliner speculation dumpster fire thread, and the rest is history.
Ok, enough about that bullshit, lets get down to the logistics here. Unlike other nominees, I will not make promises to do or change anything on this forum. I WILL promise to continue doing what I do. That includes, but is not limited to, posting in my normal sarcastic tone without the sarcastic font, making myself look naive, dumb and not witty, killing conversations with my awkward/uncomfortable/brutally honest posts, continuing the dumpster fire (whichever one is burning at the time), talking music, festivals, concerts and random thoughts and finally not disappearing for how ever long afterwards (if on the rare chance I win) like past winners have done. Plus, just a small reminder. I did not vote on the pancake or waffles thread. I love both pancakes, waffles AND French Toast. Throw some syrup on that shit it and EAT. IT. UP. Cuz baby, its all good.

This was a very strong closing moment for you. Also reminded me immediately of that moment in Friends where Joey is doing one of his many terrible plays, and his closing line is "Cuz baby, I'm gonna want to meet her" *ascends up into a spaceship*.

Love the Wire. Haven't had the pleasure of the Darkside, but I want to... that has to count for something. In fact, the boyfriend has never watched the Wire and we are in the process of rewatching it now.

One of my favorite Joey moments is when Chandler convinces him to go by the pseudonym Joseph Stalin.
Yeah, that's a picture of me and Harold Reid of The Statler Brothers at one of my first concerts in the 70's. And yes, I have been regularly attending concerts since then.

YES. God, love that show. Seen every episode about 4-6 times.
I'm glad the bebe pix are coming out. That kid-in-a-cage one is fucking priceless.

PM me your address & I will mail my DVD set to you to borrow. Once sang_xcx gives it back to me.
Thank you for your generosity! I would take you up on that, but I just checked Amazon and I'll be able to watch every season for free! I still have that Amazon Student hook up.
