Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I uploaded the only Darkside at Bonnaroo video on YouTube. Yes it is shitty quality, but that's not the point.
Are we taking into account poster's actions only on the board? Or is across all social media/the internet? Or does real life stuff count too.
I ask because Billy putting those videos up makes him a HUGE front runner in my mind. But if one can only consider what is posted on here then it's a much closer race.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I'm terrified to free-style rap, but I do it every single time I'm walking around minneapolis drunk. I do it slowly and it makes me chuckle. I did it in front of my friends while we were walking to a get together and I rapped for about ten seconds before I had to stop because I was laughing too hard at the fact I talked about masturbating and dinner-time in the same sentence.
Decaanter, will you do some free-style rap for us at brunch? Say yes.
Hey. So. I don't know what your deal is with people who like music, but your attitude is remarkably nonsensical and haphazard, so I wrote you a limerick because I know that my general loathing of people like you gets your nipples hard! In your own thread! Here's to you:
There exists a preoccupied soul, who resembles the likes of a troll. He's simply a f*ck; He rambles like ducks; His d*ck he most certainly stole.
I noticed after I wrote this, but f*ck turns into quack. Quack. Ducks. Oh sweet, sweet serendipity.
Hey you guys, I found some poetry!!
I'll happily drunkenly free-style rap for you strangers. I've been onstage in front of over a thousand people several times before during my formative years and I've performed for people many many times, but for some reason doing anything in front of a small crowd always goes well and always scares me to my very core. So. Sure.
Also, props to you for the digging. I'll write more silly limericks for you people if you want 'em.

i uploaded my video so my friends could see it, and thought i'd share it with you guys too!
i honestly forgot that i shared this embarrassing yet possibly impressive representation of myself here. and within a month of joining the board. that takes lady balls.
i would like to begin by thanking Dave Maynar for the nomination. you are a true gentleman and master of the in-car taylor swift lip sync. i would like to thank for liking my 'now playing' posts once in a while, reminding me that i do have decent taste (and for supporting the value of sweet, delicious pop music). to crazykittensmile, my television soul sister, for the garbage tv thread and honoring me with the FLAWLESS title. to custeph for uncovering my rap video, potentially entering me into a rap battle that may or may not culminate in a live performance of "miami" by will smith. to the now playing thread for challenging me to expand my musical horizons, the grrrr thread for humbling me and reminding me not to complain about the little things, and the work thread for emphasizing how much i would rather dye easter eggs and change the diapers of teenagers than work a desk job. my 500 posts over the last year have been so inspired that my fellow nominee Swedish Chef couldn't come up with a single thing to describe me, despite his observations of the competition. fellow board members have described me beautifully, in such ways as "awkward and uncomfortable at the chat meet-up." well there's more where that came from! just wait until i show up at brunch to wave at all of you while drinking an entire camelbak full of water because i don't know what to say! my recent stint as board member of the month (thanks luva!) revealed such tantalizing information as a list of all of the foods that i hate, and photographic proof that you can be both a grown woman and a cardboard airplane at the same time. i would provide thank you notes to my supporters courtesy of my exhaustive pile of stationary from the target dollar spot, in handwriting that makes it's readers dizzy. i am also willing to color bomb any/all of you at brunch, either making or ruining your day. i am working to find childhood photos to enter into the competition, but apparently i spent my entire youth on the toilet. in conclusion, thank you friends for welcoming me into this wonderful community and letting me share snaps of well-organized closets and the plants/dog statues that act as my roommates. <3
I'd like to quite a post I made in the Top Ten Live Music Experiences In Your Life thread to remind the judges that I've been no slouch when it comes to attending concerts.
10. Roky Erickson & The Explosives following a screening of You're Gonna Miss Me @ The Granada Theater; Dallas, TX; 2007: It was great to see that Roky can still put on an amazing show after the screening of this great documentary. Also seeing this on his 60th birthday was an extra nice touch. 09. Neutral Milk Hotel & Elf Power; The Majestic Theater; Dallas, TX; 2014: The Airplane Over the Sea is one of m favorite albums and I never thought I would see NMH play live. The show was a every bit as magical that I thought it would be. 08. Slayer, Megadeth & Anthrax; Superpages.com Center; Dallas, TX; 2010: This was my first time to see the mighty Slayer play live and the played my favorite album, Seasons in the Abyss, in it's entirety. Great show with a lot of energy. It's also memorable for a dark reason since this was the last show that Jeff Hanneman played in Dallas. 07. June of 44 with a couple of local bands opening; The Engine Room; Fort Worh, TX; 1995: This was my introduction to math rock and it blew me away. Great improvisation by the band and Doug Scharin is a blast to watch play live. 06. Superchunk, Rocket From the Crypt & The Grifters; Trees; Dallas, TX; 1993: I was really excited to see this show and Superchunk was great that night but there is another reason why this show was memorable. That was because of a band that was unknown to be at the time, Rocket From the Crypt. Damn, did they put on a great show with lots of energy. 05. Mr Quintron & Miss Pussycat with Electric Freestyle Fantasy; The Good/Bad Art Collective: Denton, TX; 1998: An energetic and intimate show. So much quacking fun and the most I have danced at a show. Also loved the oddball puppet show by Miss Pussycat that kicked it all off. 04. The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Jawbox, Poster Children & Baboon; Trees; Dallas, TX; 1994: Just a great lineup from top to bottom. Jawbox was brilliant but damn the JSBX was out of their minds that night with all their energy. Just quacking amazing. 03. Slayer, Gojira & 4arm; Southside Music Hall; Dallas, TX, 2013: Memorable show for many reason. This was their first tour after the death of Jeff Hanneman and Slayer played only songs from Show No Mercy to Seasons in the Abyss. Great set list. A friend of mine took his son with us and was his big concert. And somehow another friend on mine lost his shoes in the mosh pit. 02. Uncle Tupelo & Adams Farm; Trees; Dallas, TX; 1993: This was the infamous Anodyne tour where Jeff and Jay were talking very little to each other but that didn't get in the way of my enjoyment. I have been looking forward to seeing them since right before March 16–20, 1992 came out. I'm lucky that I got to see them because I doubt they will ever do a reunion show. 01. The Geraldine Fibbers & The Eyeliners; The Galaxy Club; Dallas, TX; 1997: Damn the show was beyond amazing. Nels Cline blew me away that night and Carla Bozulich has such an amazing voice.
Honorable Mention (probably leaving some off this list that deserve to be here but fuck it): Flaming Lips, Melvins, Boris, Bedhead, Spiritualized, Carla Bozulich, Son Volt, Wilco, Centro-matic, The Wrens, Radiohead, Pavement, The Black Heart Procession, Mike Watt, The Ramones, Les Savy Fav, Low, Queens of the Stone Age, ...And You Will Know us By the Trail of Dead, Yo La Tengo, Brian Wilson, Mastodon, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The Beasite Boys, Cedell Davis, REM, Tricky, Ice T, Sonic Youth, Polvo, Unwound, Ministry, Jane's Addiction, Metallica, Tortoise, Archers of Loaf, Built to Spill, Guided by Voices, Sleep, Supersuckers, Modest Mouse, Drums & Tuba, Hammerhead, The Jayhawks, The Cows, The Gourds, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Slobberbone, Butthole Surfers & Toadies
Jesus, I don't see how you guys keep up with dates and shit. I just know whether or not I've seen a band before and whether or not it ruled. It's like a damn concert resume.

I am with you. I have seen WAY too many shows to even try to keep tally. I know I saw at least 50 without the 5 festivals that I went to last year.

I have a "sticky note" on my desktop where I list all the announced upcoming shows I want to go to... I bold the ones I have tickets for and keep the others while I decide whether or not to go. it's the only way I can keep track of when shows are coming up/what's been announced/reminds me to buy a ticket/reminds me to not pick up a shift that day. and I just kept mine from last year because I like looking back at it and reminiscing. I'll probably transport them into a document at some point...

I do the same on my calendar on my desk, but I throw out the page each month, and that record of the show. I usually put the price next to the artist/band if I haven't bought tickets, while purchased just have time and venue next to artist/band. I never thought about keeping that list running and up-to-date somewhere else.
This year has actually been my lightest concert load year to date. I am very sad about all the shows I have been and will be missing.
So, I came up with a sure fire way to eliminate you nominees. I did a search, including all nine of you, to see what you thought about my man, Ryan Adams. I am so, so disappointed with the lack of Ryan Adams love. Seems billybaroo & ゴジラ might share my love, but so few of you others do.
I don't think I am a fan of him either. I have tried to listen to Ryan Adams a couple of times, but it doesn't do it to me. Apparently I am a huge music snob or have horrible tastes in music, guess it depends on who is judging me.
Ryan Adams is my dude. I got to see him twice when he played in Nashville several years ago with the Cardinals. He played two nights in a row, and I got to snag two tickets to both shows which were sold out.

There's your answer.
He is playing Jazz Fest and I tried to listen to him again.... I can't do it. Sorry. Same with that Ed Sheeran.

I really liked his last album; asides from that the only thing I heard by him was the first Whiskeytown record. I need to check out some his other stuff.
It appears that the requirements for T.I.N. this year involves being a ginger baby. I'm ok with someone who is soul-less winning this competition but I don't know if the rest of the community is.
whoa whoa whoa... I am MORE than a ginger baby! I am a ginger with a SHIT-TON of souls freckles. What other nominee is ginger?

Damn, I need to get my picture up here when I get home. I was a ginger baby, too.
I basically agree with this from what I can remember. To feign original thought let's call it:
Seasons 4 3 1 5 2
How you seen season two more than once? Because it gets stronger every time I watch it. Just curious.
I'm pretty sure I've just seen it all once. We're watching Mad Men but I feel we're up for a Wire rewatch.
Top 5 Ryan Adams 1.) Ryan Adams - Heartbreaker 2.) Ryan Adams - Gold 3.) Whiskeytown - Pneumonia 4.) Ryan Adams - Love is Hell 5.) Ryan Adams - Easy Tiger

Yeah that threw me off too. Were you suggesting my golden ringlets contain the ginger virus?
Hey everyone, I've gotten a few requests from people for me to send them Hot Chip's new album. It's only a 256 rip, but it still plays fine on speakers and sounds pretty fucking good, actually. If anyone wants me to send them a copy, just message me with your email address and I'll send it your way as soon as I can. Furthermore, if anyone sees me post anything in Now Playing that you want to listen to and can't be bothered streaming it or can't find it online anywhere, please feel free to ask me for it and I'll gladly send it to ya.
+10 points for volunteering to be spammed for music requests.
