Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Power just went out. Gusts are strong, but we're still good. They say 6-9 will be our worst winds. We'll see.
Edit: 8:30p update. We're still fine. no flooding but my backyard is holding water and we're getting some seeping in, but nothing serious. Just stressful.
We still have no power, but the wind has died down seriously. We have the front windows and the back sliding door open. So it's not miserable.
Neighbor lost a gutter, another lost their carport and we can see shingles flying off another. I'm ready for this to be over. We probably bringing a bunch of perishables foods to Bonnaroo.

Entergy just said Orleans parish is out entirely. Could be a while for power.
If the house gets wrecked I'm bugging the fuck out and letting insurance handle it.
How you doing so far?
Watching the assorted chaos from my house in Pensacola. Got all the family and dogs crammed in. Random reports of house damage from siblings and others but it doesn’t seem that extreme. Down the bayou is screwed though. Been a while for those folks. I think it’s bad west of the city too (Laplace, Reserve, etc.).

Thank you guys for keeping me up to date, last two days I've been trying to focus on getting everything done for Roo but it's hard to focus and stay excited when I'm worried about my inforoo buddies/other people who've already been through enough down there.

same, was thinking of my new orleans inforoo peeps.
over here in Mobile it's just been wet, constant drizzle for a couple days. minimal wind.
So at midnight or cellular service went out. I woke up this morning to it still being out. Apparently Verizon is working. I opened up my tablet which I do not have a contract for, and have cellular service.
Got extremely lucky. No property damage, the branch that did fall fell in the middle of the yard, did damage to nothing. We're without power, internet, and cellular and that's it.
They say that we're going to be without power for about 30 days. A tower fell into the river that transmits all power for the city. Still planning on Bonnaroo with tons of food.

Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

So glad you're safe, but omg, 30 days?!?!
Yeah. Some giant platform relay transmitter thing - like those 5-story structures fell into the river. All of the east bank of Jefferson Parish (Metairie and Kenner) and all of New Orleans gets their power though those feeds. It’s not like they can just get a new one delivered. Hopefully it’s a couple weeks and they can do a work around until they can install the new structure. Could be longer than 30 days. Fun!
We're actually in a situation now where we don't know if we will make it. They're not letting people back supposedly and dog sitters don't have power and are conserving gas and not working out. 🙄
Edit: they're saying November 1 power will be reinstated.

I'm a bit nervous about driving down in all this rain but I was rear ended pretty badly last week so hopefully that fills a quota of some sorts. Safe travels, ya'll.
Apparently the November date was bs being passed around based on a post they traced back to hurricane zeta from last year. Different versions apparently are the 1st or 2nd of November. It shouldn’t be that long, but 4 weeks would be the minimum you’d think.
