it's been a while since i lived in nashville, but the Bluegrass Inn is definately worth checking out. it's not blues, but they always had some killer bluegrass going on.
3rd & Linsley is another place worth checking out. you'll probably have better luck finding blues there.
i think you're getting nashville confused w/ memphis. memphis has the best blues bars! but nasvhille does have the best country bars. surprisingly, i had so much fun at one there a couple years ago. they even played a dead song at our request!
Yeah I'd love to check out Memphis....but not enough time:( I heard that there's a BB King Blues Bar in Nashville.....is it fun? I'm not that picky about where I hear good music! Just wanted to have a good ole time!!

BB Kings is really big. Maybe a thousand capacity... I saw a sixteen year old kid take the stage and rip blues and funk standards with an experienced band. Nashville is a pretty cool town in general. There is a great strip of honky-tonks on Main St(I think). Check out Tootsies, classic country dive bar.

BB King's has great live music and yes it is fun. It's on 2nd Avenue. The food is a little pricey but really really good

You will want to go downtown Nashville to an area called Printers Alley. It is literally an alley, a block long with an awesome blues club about halfway up on the left . It's called Boubon Street Blues and Boogie Bar at 220 Printers Alley. Cool place. Live music every night.

Last year after the Roo, I caught a great blues band at the Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar. There weren't many people in the audience but one of them was Victor Wooten. BB's is more touristy but worth a stop too.

The aforementioned BB's and Bourbon Street in Printer's Alley... away from the District, there's the Gulch, where the legendary Station Inn (pure bluegrass mecca) is, and City Hall (warehouse club). The Exit/In is in Elliston, over by Vanderbilt and Centennial Park. 3rd and Lindsley stands alone, but if you're here on a wednesday night, you can catch the Wooten Brothers Band (Regi and Rudy are always there, Futureman and Victor occasionally show) if you're in Murfreesboro, go to the Bluesboro on the town square. Cheap, good beer and hot live music.
