Judging from many of the remarks on the NC Facebook page, I don't think there's going to be much of a problem with the fest attracting a bunch of annoying youngsters this year. A lot of the younger demographic - hey, I can type that because I'm almost 44 - appears to be upset about this year's lineup. Fine by me.
D'Angelo on the 4th (Fri) WSP on the 5th (Sat) Chem Bros on the 6th (Sun)
WSP, Chem Bros, Disco Biscuits, Atmosphere, Chromeo, Gold Panda, and Green Velvet have all three days listed on their schedules. Seems like a solid selection of late nights to me
Joe Russo's Almost Dead has the 4th on their site -- could easily be a placeholder, but if him and D'Angelo are both indeed on that Friday, oh baby! Shit gon get funky.
Ugh can't believe I'm considering going to the shitfest festival on Sunday just to see The Chemical Brothers. Wish they'd announce a proper US tour soon.

I would go if I lived locally just for them and D'Angelo, but the crowd stories make it sound abhorrent.
For anyone that went, I hope you had a good time. We did.
D'Angelo and the Vanguard, and The Chemical Brothers made it happen. Chem Bros last night was better than 5 years ago. Amazing show!
And, I just wanted to mention that the crowd watching and grooving last night were very into what they were seeing. It was pretty cool to watch some of the pure reactions people were showing last night, no matter how old they were. Chem Bros really has that influence, and a lot of the younger crowd noticed.
If anyone comes across the full set audio of either of these I just mentioned, please share. Thanks.
D'Angelo was fucking awesome. The crowd was very small. I couldn't believe how loud the set/band was. It was way louder than the sets at Pitchfork. His whole band is amazing. Really fun night.
really damn loud, which was fine. I read about his set at another fest (maybe 'roo) mentioning his sound was overtaken by a dj/edm at another stage, and there being a big deal made of it. Aoki didn't stand a chance Saturday night.
