How have I never seen that "With a Little Help From My Friends" video?! Fantastic. And they look so young there.
Not sure if you've seen, but they've added Duane Betts (son of Dickey Betts) as a touring guitarist, and possible 5th band member. I'm very interested to see how he fits in

It was the first thing I had ever seen/heard from them. I looked them up as they were opening for a band I was seeing (likely Deer Tick...maybe someone else around that level) and when I saw that I was hooked. Great version of a great song.
Dawes just released the second single from the new album, "Right On Time." I'm really loving the sound they're going for. I wasn't a huge fan of the feel of "Stories Don't End" even though the songs were excellent live.
Also here's an interview with Taylor regarding Duane Betts playing with them.
"You know, before, when there’s just this one guy singing and this one guy playing all the guitar solos, then after two hours or so, it’s like, okay, I think I get it, I think I’m done. Where as with Duane and this new voice – we’ve only played a couple full – length shows with him so far, because things are about to get rolling – but when we did, we would get to about two-and-a-half hours or something and be like, “this could just keep rolling.” And people don’t seem tired, and we’re not tired. So I think his presence has really given us a lot of new life and a lot of exciting possibilities for what we can do this summer."
This is why Dawes need to play a proper headlining show in the Northeast

I'm really liking the album. It's definitely the best they've captured their sound. Other than the two singles they've released, it doesn't have any of the obvious hits like the stuff on Nothing Is Wrong or some of the better ones on Stories Don't End, but it's got some great jams, and Taylor's writing is still on point

The app on my phone says Saturday from 1 to 1:45. I hope it is Saturday because I don't have anything else going on.
You're correct, my apologies.
No worries, I saw that and flipped to the schedule real quick because I missed the districts three times last year. Dawes talking Friday would have ruined that for me as my wife loves the Goldsmiths!

Man, I'm starting to lean towards seeing Rustie. I just don't know how much I'll feel like dancing at that time. Even though Dawes has never disappointed me when seeing them live before, I never thought I'd be going to their performance at this Roo when the lineup came out. I said, "Oh, Dawes is going to be there. That's nice." Then the schedule came out and here I am preparing to see Dawes. A couple of advantages to attending their set for me are it should be easy to pit and watching the Goldsmith's jam out on their instruments would be funner than watching Rustie behind the table. I'll have to wait and see why kind of mood I'm in.
Dawes' keyboard/organ player Tay Strathairn is leaving the band due to musical differences. Hopefully they find a worthy replacement because he's a damn good and important member of the band

That's too bad. Would be interested to see what those differences are. Do the Griffin brothers want to change things up or just keep going with their same sound. We'll see if I notice a major difference the next time I see them. I remember being bummed that Portugal. The Man's keyboardist was leaving but then I great to like the newer guy fine.

Some irony there since the new album's title track wishes "may all your favorite bands stay together". I think they should go for a different sound before they become Wilcoma.
