Yes yes Its a Canadian here. And can you believe it! my Bonnaroo Buddies that are joining in on what my hubby officially named "The Magical Mystery Tour" they cannot believe and are quite shocked that I've NEVER been to United States. Yep folks thats right! Trust me, I look forward to meeting everyone, I look forward to checking out how Americans party compared to Canadians! Maybe we can even have a little contest. ...... (Just kidding) But I've never driven across the border. Yes I've flown into Miami, on my way back to Canada, but never driven through.
Ok I'm freaking myself out here. I'm worried we will be turned away. Can border patrol turn you away? Any tips on being a good Canadian girl crossing the border? I've heard horror stories that they will turn you away for no good reason. By the way we are crossing at Sarnia.
Any travel tips for one Canadian who is a little freaked out about crossing? (I almost feel as though I'm trying to escape from jail!)
Silly I know but any tips will be quite useful!
Nothing will ruin my FIRST of I hope many Bonnaroo experiences! ;D
As long as you're traveling clean, and have no previous DUI or drug convictions, you should be fine. There have been laws on the books for a while now about allowing undesirables into the US from other countries (and from the US into Canada, etc), but these were generally not enforced. Now that America is stepping on the toes of other countries to back us up in the "War on Drugs", Canada has started denying entry to those with drug convictions.
Don't tell them you are going to a Hippy festival in TN. They will strip your car clean! Just say you're on vacation heading to TN. for some camping. No Bonnaroo or bust signs, anything that can give you away. If you have a clean record, you should have nothing to worry about. Enjoy your trip.
