Just to follow up... My usual crowd cannot make it this year. They all work for the public schools and have mandatory teacher workdays. I don't prefer to make the trip by myself, but will if I have no other choice. But I definitely do not want to camp by myself!

I am coming from southeastern NC, just outside of Fayetteville/Ft Bragg area. I was thinking about leaving on Tuesday after work to stay at my brother's in Asheville... Which would break up my drive that ends up being about 10 hours including stops.
I posted on Ricky Rides and have gotten a few replies, but nothing confirmed.

I'm looking for a ride back to NC, stopping either in Asheville or Charlotte, if anyone has room for one person with one small bag. A friend I'm riding there with wants to leave early on Sunday and he's taking all of the camp gear back with him. I'll no doubt throw in gas money.
